I love your Ent! (they are not tree beasts 
) and his base. Way underrated on rating!
I do not like the hobbits that much tho but because of the cast not the painting.
PS: as lol player: the is no reason to not combine it.
While the paint drys you can play a game, listen to kids flaming each other and then go back to the relaxing atmosphere of painting.
PPS: really nice base! but i personal think that oiled wood is in any way superear to vanished wood (besides practical reasons).
E.g. You would not get that strong front light reflect with oil.

Agreed, almost all the right side of the troll (viewers side) went through the same process, as a result, now when you hold it close it seems to be more illuminated on that side. Should take note of this, because I tried this effect some other times without result.

Hahahaha I just play ARAM, it's much more light and fast than the "three streets" mode (and much secure for mental sanity) LOL. Happy that you liked it.You need to stop being a baddy at LoL and focus on painting

Particularly like the spikes on the club, they were painted with grey, black, white and orange, and I tried to do some NMM iron on them.

This is just because I had some pending work and I am updating my gallery as I promised on my objectives for 2017 also because @anotherpainter remembered me that I have few pictures in my gallery and I want to amend that issue. ^^

I am continuing the Hammer beastmen from Arcadia Quest that I started back on November last year, I did not take notes on the mix I used for their skin, but thankfully I took a picture with the paint pots as a reference and p ost it here (starting point), so again, having a WIP poofs its utility!!
In three short sessions (one or two hours) I worked on their skin, hair and the stones on their hammers. I also painted the aid-band and the sweat tear that I added to their sculpt on both to give them a comical touch (even more).

The stone on the hammers was painted in grey washed in nuln oil, then dry-brushed with a light creamy colour and then given various glazes of blue, red, brown and yellow to give it some variation. (glazes and washes from GW) Next I lightly drybrushed some more creamy colour on the edges and some areas.
The skin has been painted with a mix of brown grey, eclipse grey (neutral dark grey), indian shadow (granate red) and resurrection flesh (orange skin tone). Adding harvester flesh (pink skin tone) and rainy gray (lighter brown grey) for the lights and Petroleum grey (darker brown grey) and a tiny dab of blackforest green (dark blue-green) for the shadows. All colours from sc75.

Awesome, Maenas!! I really like the look of the hammers; those turned out great! I also like the purple on the snout, gives the fig some a natural look and nice color variation. And the eyes are intense, lol.

What did you use on the eyes? Just gloss vanish?
The structure under the turkies armband. How did you create it?
How the fuck do you sculp something so small and preciese as the tear or the plaster? if you can sculpt so well why not sculp more?

Voted and always love this thread ..your a fully fledge hobbyist. I'm just a painter you my friend can do it all!!! And that kinda thing impresses the hell out of me.

I wouldn't call this sculpting xP they are just a couple of tiny details. I think I wouldn't dare to sculpt a full figure it requires a lot of practice and patience! Maybe some day I try something a bit more complex...
The tear is really very easy, you just need to sculpt a green stuff ball, then squeeze one end between your fingers and you got it, just check for a proper size and stick it in place!
The aid band is a rectangular tiny bit of green stuff modelled in place with the tip and the side of a needle, the first couple of tries were too thick or too big, just adjust the size and there you go..
I painted the eyes "normally" then added light reflection marks (not 100% opaque ivory colour) on the eyeballs, just as if they were a sphere (a dot and a stroke, similar to a curved exclamation mark) then instead of painting gloss varnish I added a drop of still water from Vallejo. It adds a super shiny finish that works well with glasses crystals and the like.

I do have still water and i use it for "wet effects". I put it on a visor of my zombie but did not like the result. I Will try again and put something on the eye of my next mini.
So im just guessing you put a lot of scratches with the same needle in it.
As someone who archivied the impossible of creating a straight piece of wood let me tell you : mayde the day is today ...
I did mean the texture... Did not even notice you added that!

Ditto everything above. The little details like the plaster (what the hell is a 'band-aid'?) and the bead of sweat are awesome
