What is with all the SPAM postings lately?

What's up with all the electronic device postings that have links to television shows and movies?

Is the BOT filter not working?

I suspect that there's another type of Bot out which gets round the filter.
I'm killing the spam off as soon as I can, but this afternoons been a bit busy, writing technical procedure documents.
6000 words in one day was a lot to get through to meet the deadline.
(So glad that F7 exists!)

Hah! I've been deleting loads.

I've PM'd Chern and he has in turn contacted the anti-spam service this forum uses.

Yup, I started reporting some of it, but there were lots, and finally thought that reporting would only gave moderators more work, so I stopped my reporting. If it is in any way useful I could continue to cast reports, just let me know.

I'd say to not only delete the message,.. but also ban the IP address that sends them permanently.

That's an automatic action.
IP address gets reported to spam filters, but IP spoofing is very easy these days.

Welcome to the internet. Unfortunately that's the down side of the great world wide web . . . @Webmonkey - If you block ppl by their IP, that usually helps a lot. Yeah when I was working as a receptionist at a medical clinic, we use to get the worst number of spammy calls. Like just robots talking. Super annoying.

Averaging five to six a day at the moment.
Nothing near as bad as it was a couple of years ago when I was clearing 19-20 a day.
IP spoofing isn't helping the Anti-spam filters though.
