Ok I'm going to admit that I'm getting old, recently the arthritis in my shoulder has occasionally given me some trouble especially when trying to shake a paint bottle.
I was hunting around for a purpose hobby paint shaker and found one £60.
BUT, searching on eBay I managed to spot a Nail Varnish Shaker for £22.
OK thinks I, why not?
Arrived this week and just spent an hour testing(OK, playing with it), works wonders.
I'm not going to say it's the dogs danglies, but it does what it needs to.
Both mains and AA battery.

After 2 minutes you can see that the paint is properly mixed.
And I don't have any pain in my shoulder.

Damn they are big photos.

That is a good price Mike.

I bought a used laboratory vortex mixer a year ago and it works really good as long as there is some free headspace in the bottle.

I was just looking at one of these on Amazon, my paints often sit for 17-26 weeks at time so looking for handy way to mix them all up quickly when i actually get chance to paint.

Is the strap adjustable? I'm assuming Vallejo is the same size as Scale 75 so i don't see problem there, have you by chance tried different size bottles? I have set of ak extreme metals and wondering if they would fit?

Yesterday I tried a GW pot, only fits one way, Scale 75 and Reaper, all OK.
Now I only have 1 AK bottle and that's the ULtimate matte varnish Bottle, but with a couple of large rubber bands around the extreme metals bottles they should do OK.

I could definitely use something like this for my s75 paints, seems like no matter how much i shake them they still need more

Got to admit this has been a boon.
Buuuuuuut
it's cost me for some new paints when they've been too thick to shake rattle and roll back into use.
(Any excuse to go to a toy shop)

DR, sometimes you may need to take some paint out of the bottle as you need a bit off head space to get good mixing. This is a bigger problem with vortex mixer, but still a concern with shakers. i hear this was a big problem with early Scale75 paints as the were filled to the brim with paints. May help to add some type off non corosive rattlet to the bottle as well. Like a glass beed or non-lead split shot.

BTW different mixxers and shakers are discussed in this thread at Reaper as well...http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/71837-split-vortex-shakers/

But I think DR had found the best priced unit out there from what I have seen.
