Are those Orks or Marines. Cant tell cause the image is so blurry, but im going to go with orks, but only cause it looks like a half way great paint job (on account you used green for half) LMAO, things are looking great bud and glad to see you back. We sure have missed you around these parts. Also cant wait for the starwars mini paint.

Thanks gang, the hardest part was going back and matching my old painting style from almost 2 years ago o_O It's shocking how much we grow and change over time.

the terminators are epic mate nicely done, the burnt base on the plasma pistol marine "brilliant idea" personally i would have gone with red orange and yellow hightlights all down his side facing the plasma blast rather than the spots of "blowback" as they were described lol bit less paintball-ish something like this type of effect

Thanks cass, yeah i could have done more with the OSL but It was just a quick warm up to get me back into 40k. I'mma be doing a lot of quick and dirty table top stuff for 40k in between some display pieces. It's rare that i find 40k stuff i I want to really lavish attention on. It's like my familiar take a break or try out new stuff subject now ya know?

Voted for your Dark Angels. Great work especially seeing as you can knock out numerous minis in a short time. It takes me 20yrs to paint the same number.

Thanks, well 2-3 years aint bad but they were all converted or had their DA icons resculpted in AOR icons. The next batches will go faster, unless I decide to magnetize all the options or heavily convert them or something.

Just getting basic volumes in and getting back to using my wet palette. Much faster this way - only about 15 min work so far!
I will rough everything in in first and then refine, detail and add washes and glazes.
This one might go rather quickly and I may not enter it in the MV contest. Not sure contests are the right motivation for me and they make me very cautious and tentative with my painting , but i do my best work unrestricted and fearlessly trying new things. It took me forever just to start this one as if every brush stroke mattered because it was for a silly contest and once I let go of that idea it was just fun and easy again. Made me reassess why I paint and it's not for profit or competition.

Thanks diggs, so far it is very fun and going quickly as i rough stuff in. Cass I plan on going with the green she usually wields but a very very very florescent green with lots of OSL and shadow. Very dramatic. (also requiring less details and painting :p)

I like your thinking. It always seems your projects that you seem to have fun doing always turn out great.

Thanks KB! So almost everything has been sketched in except her "hair" saber "blades" and ground. I may still enter it into the MV comp so I will likely have to stop showing pics soon but I am having fun and getting comfortable with my wet palette again!

Roughed in her face details. Lots of fixing to do. her eyes need to be adjusted as they don't quite line up but the area is soo rough i may have to strip it and start again. from the prep stage there are mold lines everywhere too :(

On another note I joined Art Amino under Almost Perftec Painting. Its my way of dipping my toe into social media since i am now using my phone for WIP pics since my wip cam died. I have to admit its waaaay easier to update wips right from the phone. I will likely join FB instagram and twitter once i get over the fear of being social. I'll let you know where to follow me once those are up and running. Likely that will mean the death of my blog and less time on formus. Oh well technology marches on. CMON needs an app to stay relevant me thinks cause this editing and transferring pics thing now feels super slow on the computer o_O Oh God. I've been infected by the social media app virus!

Lol, I know! I know! I am just sketching in that crap for now I'll clean them up later I swear! Masking them was a rage inducing blur, the shape was all kinds of three dimensional crazy. I couldn't even get the super thin tamiya stuff to lay right o_O Stupid aliens with their not hair "hair". :at-wits-end:
