Great texture on the surfaces there I also really like the fish head shoulder guard the orange really brings it out.

Love the description for the stages. This colour - stippled
May as well be. This colour - painted like a master painter

I have as much hope getting a handle on your stippling technique as I do flying the space shuttle. I'll settle for just admiring rather than trying to emulate I think.

I love that feeling of having just finished a project! It's high time too as this year, although very busy and achieving plenty, I've not actually finished very much at all! But the Abyssal Warlord is done and I'm very happy with the result. This model feels like a consolidation of the techniques I've been experimenting with over the last year or so. Which probably means it's time to stretch myself and try something new!

*sigh* It's almost depressing how easy you make all this look. Another fantastic piece; even if I'm not a fan of the figure itself you paint job really brings it to life.

Good call on the muddy olive greens for the water. I would of gone too 'green' and it would of been a distraction. (You understand this is all in the fictional world in my head IF I had painted this mini :))

It's been a while! The funny thing is that now I have all this 'free' time I'm spending less time online - I am no longer stuck at a desk with nothing to do but go online to kill the boredom! My Summer was busy to say the least it was also very good but the downside was that for two months I didn't get to paint. When I did start up painting it did not go well in fact it went very badly. For a short period I really lost my touch and I didn't enjoy the experience one little bit! So I put my 'troubled' project aside and spent a little time with Akitio which proved to be a good move as I progressed the project and painted myself out of the blues.

Feeling much better about all things mini painting I moved on to start work prepping my new Nurgle Predator ready for it's 30th anniversary in 2020. I'm playing a very long game here! I wanted to try out a few Nurgle colour schemes and for the first of them I'm painting up a Death Guard. I'm really enjoying this project so I can happily declare my painting blues well and truly over!

I'm glad it was only a temporary loss of mojo. It's just one of those things though really, sometimes you just need to recharge the creative batteries.

the abysal warlord looks fantastic as does the bust, and the death guard
