Byzantine Dismounted Bucellarri (Finally!) Complete!

The first unit in my Justinian/Heraclian Era Byzantine Army complete.

've added in a couple of extra characters like the officer with his hand in the air, commanding the archers to loose and the Flamoularioi officer to 'dress the ranks'.

A great looking unit! I particularly like the banner which oozes Byzantine flavor :)

The banner was free hand and was actually a pleasure to paint. I was kind of dreading it as it's been years since I painted up a free hand banner of any description. There really wasn't any need thanks to the plethora of transfers and banner sheets available. But, there was nothing that looked 6CE Eastern Roman so I was kind of forced to do it. I'm going to deck all the elite units in the army in their own specific banners. I'll probably have them available for other flk if I get around to painting larger versions then scaling them down,
