It's not freehand, it's an LBMS transfer :curl-lip:

I've still got over 200 to paint and that's just the infantry so painting the shields is a no-no. You can practically buy the equivalent of the Notia Dignitatum in terms of what's available transfer wise.

I once painted all the shields in an entire Norman army. funny thing is, it didn't bother me at the time.....
