Which do you prefer to use: brush on primer or spray can? Why?

Hi guys, what tool do you use to measure out paints accurately onto the pallette? Especially with thicker paints like GW\'s line. I\'m thinking of mixing up my own paints with only the primary colors. Thanks in advance!
