I Was 7, when my parents moved to Germany. My mother is polish, my father was german. The reason was the really unstable political and economical situation. And because my father was german, there was the chance. And yes, my husband is German, but he was not the reason, why I moved to Germany. *smile*

Most americans are as appalled as you are. Anyways, I've been meaning to ask you this: Why did you move from Poland to Germany? Is your husband German?

AU! ok... Ku Klux Klan is known by me, but I though that it were only really nasty jokes, that they are still existent in the USA! Sorry, but I am shocked, that it is still actual. A country, that calls german more than once rassistc, that behave itsself like the world police for "good culture", that have made the same big mistakes in the past (Amerian Indian, Slavery, apartheid), tries to tidy up the world, while it cannot get along inside with these people... sorry, I think, we should change the subject. I am a little enraged about this.

NRW stands for Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine-Westphalia). It is the name of one part of Germany located in the noth-west... uhm... like the name says it.. *smile*

KKK stands for Ku Klux Klan. They're a White Supremacy group that has been the cause of quite a few hate crimes in the past. They used to kill people from african descent, but now they just tend to spout hateful speech. Everything you don't want in the local neighborhood.

NRW? what does that stand for?

*smile* it is like the statistics in NRW. It is the "state" in Germany I am living in... but here it is not football, but soccer... But what is "KKK"?
KKK in German means: Küche, Kinder, Kirche (kitchen, children, chruch) and shows in a VERY old fashioned way the main duties of a "good wife".

In the southern United States education is ranked the worst in the country. (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Kentucky, and West Virginia are especially famous for this) Statistically there are more obese people. Religion is an overwhelming aspect of other people's lives, and often they will demand it is part of yours. Housing is typically worse in the south. There are quite a few pro-war fanatics nested in the south. The KKK is more deeply rooted in the south. American Football is more important in the south than a college's scholastic merits. These are just a few of the differences the south has from the rest of the USA.

why espacially the south? What is so different?

Ouch. Yeah decent point. We have so many different cultural areas though in the US. One in particular gets made fun of regularly. The south.

Never saw this this way. In my surrounding most cultural jokes are made about the USA. Espacielly after the bush era.

Good Joke! Everyone in America makes Polish jokes, but they way I understand it is that Estonians are the subject of jokes in Europe.
