I really can´t paint pupils. I load the brush with paint, and when I make the stroke the paint has already dried does anyone know how to do it?

I´ve decided to try out NMM but... I don´t understand so much how should I paint that metallic pieces, any tip? any photos? any explanation please??? thanks
