\"1 week army\"

Alright.... So I had this crazy idea of offering a painting service for the gamers out there. Basic idea is that I will provide a very fast (1 week) turnover on a fully painted army. Now obviously this isn\'t going to be a golden demon winning army.... But it will be painted... I am going to attempt this on my bretonnian army over my spring break. Starting Monday, I plan on having a fully painted army by Friday.

This is not going to be including my heros however.... I am going to paint those to a very high standard (atleast as high as I can do).

So... Here are my goals.

-Monday March 6 I will be posting an assembled, flashed and primed army of Bretonnians.
-Tuesday March 7 I will be basecoating and washing all of the figures
-Wednesday March 8 I will be going back over the washes for basic highlighting
-Thursday March 9 I will be cleaning up the figures as much as possible.
-Friday March 10 I will be basing the army and varnishing.

If this works and I don\'t want to shoot myself by the time it\'s over I will be offering this as a painting service. Naturally however I will be unable to do conversions, pinning (unless absolutely necessary), Freehand work (though I could use transfers), and characters I simply won\'t do as a part of this. If characters are desired then the client would have the option of choosing one of my higher qualities as listed on my website.

All of this ofcourse is assuming that it is even humanly possible to assemble an paint a full army within 1 week. We shall find out by the end of next week.

And what can we expect to pay for a service like this? (if it works)

How many points worth of troops, and what system?

FYI: I personally think you are insane.

I\'m not really going to dive into details until I find out if I can even do it in the first place....:D

Just enjoy this thread as me attempting to paint my army in 1 week for now.

I think Red Bull will have a great financial yearlol Good luck, you\'ll need it. I fought it was hard to paint the Cryx Battle Group in 10 days, but a full 2000 pnts(???) WHF army:wow:

Mate, if you can do it, I have 7,000 points of Dark Elves that could use a coat of paint or three. All rank-n-file, now that\'ll keep you off the streets at night, and from frightening the neighbours dogs for a couple of weeks. :D

You mad, EP, absolutely mad. Stark-raving mad.

Good grief! I can\'t even remove the mold lines and assemble a whole army in a week!

You better have some sort of drybrushing robot or something there.

too funny... I just committed to doing 20+ space wolves in a week for a friend... and already I feel exhausted just cleaning them up and prepping them for this week.

It\'s the 20-ish wolves, plus there are a couple of tanks if I can get to them... plus some terrain if I can get to those... all by the end of next week.

Maybe we should both do progressive blogs?

eh, good luck. :D

man thats crazy. I ve done a unit of 20 men at arms in an evening but they were already cleaned and preped.

This will be fun to watch.

I want pics already :) I reckon it can be done but i\'m not sure of the standard the army will be at. Can\'t wait for the voting. All the best and what are you doing reading this reply. GET PAINTING!!! :)

I think assembling and cleaning the flash from an entire army in 1 day is impossible.
Not to mention then photographing them and posting them here. Heck, sometimes it takes me most of a day to photograph a single mini and post it.

Doing this fast and dirty technique to the Bretonians is pretty harsh, they usually look so elegant.
If you chose rats or orks maybe, but an army with Knights in one week? An \"Army\" of 200 points would be a stretch for me in that time.

Best of luck

I suppose its all a matter of how well painted a customer wants in comparision to what you would charge. One thing i wanna mention though is that if you do manage to do it in a week then your setting a trend for yourself to follow and you could find yourself working on a production line that might end up:
1, boring you
2, driving you insane
3, being unhappy with the results when you could take longer and charge more and be happy with the results along with the customer.

Its getting the balance of the painting standard with the price. too low a price would result in you working your nuts off. And remember you would have to do the same thing the week after. :( Arrrrghhhh. If you have a team of painters then thats another story. Hope it works out well for you, whatever you decide. \'May the force be with you\' *sorry. I\'ve just started playing the starwars roleplay system :)

If you have a team of painters...

That\'s the only posibility i can see for this kind of project. I can\'t imagine painting an army in such a short time period alone. As darkminiatures said, i\'d be bored... probably after first knight unit, seeing more and more standing on my desk. Not a kind of job for me :)

good luck and i\'m impatiently waiting for the first progress info on monday ;)

i feel your pain! i have been painting full time contracts for over 3 years!:D let me assure you, it is possible. for pricing, take a look at www.warbossminiatures.com thats the studio i work for, and the pricing is very fair, and also one of the lowest out there (seeing as how the cost includes assembly, prime, basing, and matte sealer)

best of luck with your task!
