10 balls WIP

Cheers all, yep TMM - havent got the time for NMM, also imo TMM works better in this scene.

I prefer TMM to NMM. After all, the end result I'm looking for is a mini that makes *me* happy when I look at it, turning it in the light. As much as I like to share my hobby with others, pretty photos are secondary for me. Looks awesome, Ten Ball! Can't wait to see who will stand upon those stairs!

Thanks all. The stairs were made out of 3mm foamex and milliput. Just about finished now all ready for GD in a few weeks. Might also do one more little project :)
Cheers to Dave, Stefan and Andy for their help. :good:

Had fun with this, as usual I was focused on the composition as much as the painting, and with the limited time chose TMM over NMM which im happy with the results.
When I ordered the mini it didnt say it was finecast (it stated high quality resin) so had a shock on opening the box = 5 hours prep time :(

Not my usual choice of mini but since the snail (which was a crazy purchase at euro M 2015) ive been enjoying and doing well with minis that at first I wouldnt choose to paint. So I recommend giving it a try!

Cheers all :)

Digga get some 1.5 mm foamex or splice 3mm like I did to 1.5mm thin rectangles
glue in selected positions. Foamex is really versatile, easy to cut with a scalpel, it can be filed, bent into shapes (as ive done with the bannister) glues in seconds, easy to paint also.

Really nice job, 10. The details (green poison, fishnets, green eyeshadow/OSL around the eyes) really make this one.
Could you maybe explain how you turned the Foamex into the bannister in a bit more detail? I was admiring it when you first posted the base.

Thanks all :)

@ SaintT - the foamex was cut into very thin strips, then sanded into a tube (sort of) shape (around 1.5mm), it then can be carefully bent into position (I used a hair dryer to heat it up). It with form the poisition slightly but will also need to be glued in place so planning is key.
The shape on the uprights were sanded in groves using a dremmel thingy to make little notches.

An early shot of the scene

Thanks, 10. A Dremel is definitely something I have been thinking about buying. The railing looks great and the TMM wou'd done on it really brings out the structural details you created before getting the brushes wet.

Looking forward to seeing more of that cool little project! From what I can see, the glass on the windshield looks awesome. I assume that's a GW model?

Pretty good. It's not easy painting green - or was that being green? Nah, pretty sure it's the first one!
