I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks he should be falling backwards. lol!

i kind of like the base. like he has struggeled two hours just to get on top of these stones so he finally can do some heavy swinging with the sword. love this mini.

Sword is looking much smoother and nice. Green starting out good - fits nicely with the blues in the bone. Looks like it may have gone a little chalky on the far right extremity? or is that me....Not sure how this would look but some reds in the shadows would contrast really well with the bone?

Damn that's coming together nicely... love the bone, the green is getting there but i'm not sure about the gold - especially the skull on the helm.

Yep lovely but I gotta agree with squidders the gold looks a bit blobby and more like brass, hmm maybe a wash of burnished gold or some subtlety placed midtone of gold?

I was going for a very old and weather gold. Like the attached.
It even has specks of shadow blue in there to tie it in with the blues on the armor.

I keep looking and can't see the problem with the gold. Maybe the skull on his head could be shaded a bit more but the sword gold is awesome.

Antique gold usually has very very dark brown or black. The red makes it look more copper than gold.

But the sword hilt and crosspiece are freakin' awesome! That's definitely a home run! I know it's a small detail but that's my favorite. :laugh:

The green robe is wonderfully shaded it but (and this is a real nit-pick) maybe a little too even from top to bottom, left to right.

Bone armor is of course gorgeous but I'm sorry, hun, this mini is not one of my favorites. The man-purse just ruins it for me.

Well finished him off and no NMM in sight!! Really happy with the bone armor but not so much with the rest - as usual for me!

Used a great bit of wood Milosh sent me, it had a natural gap straight through the middle and was perfect for this little scene

I think i'm coming down with some sort of painting OCD, I can not stop checking and going back over, sometimes not to the benefit of the mini. I need to know when to stop!!
