Hey 10ball,

the lady looks gorgeous so far. I really like the dress and the freehand on it! :) And I am really looking forward to your base. Any ideas how you want to approach it? What materials? What size?
Ah, and the Vlad painting looks good too. Only the face of the painting could use some shadows and highlights, it looks a bit flat that way.

I hope your wife has a quick recovery and everything went well. :)

Rayzr - Thanks, im going with a simple camo pattern so to keep my sanity !

Mike - yep your correct she is Spyglass not Reaper, you can buy her through Heresy now (they brought the rights from Spyglass in 2011)

Crackpot - Thanks mate, im going with milliput like you suggest (never realy used it before) the scale will be real compact (not a diorama like yours).
As for shading Vlads face, phew! had enough of the little bast*rd, like you I couldnt get his eyes right. I think I will see it as a learning exercise :)

Ha! Its bad rep for the precursor of Dracula; Vlad "I will nail your hat to your head" the Impaler when Terry Thomas actually looks MORE scary than yourself!

That's tiny!! I'm always in awe that you guy are able to put so much detail on the faces at this scale. I burn my eye out trying to do that!

Khonner - Carnt use those magnifiers, I can never judge the distance from the tip of the brush to the mini!

Milosh - Over xmas I will be working on some larger scale minis. Finari I painted for Salute was Reaper master series that is 54mm also.

Well its been a hell of a week so far. My wife is doing well thanks all, hopefully she will be out on Monday.
I have managed to do some painting in the battle zone that is my life at the moment but if you see the pict below it looks exactly the same. This is because I spent 4 hours doing a camo pattern that looked APPALLING :(
Soooooooooooo its been a 4 hour repaint on the greens.

If anyone mentions camo patterns, I will bonk them on the nose :messed:

Glad to hear your wife is doing better.
As for his trousers maybe leave any extra details until the rest is painted to see if it need's anything extra or would be too much. (there you go managed a whole sentence without saying CAMO !! sets sentry guns and watches monitors)
