Wow, okay. I guess that would keep you from over loading the brush. That is, if W&Ns 00 is indeed a fine detail brush. Since there isn't a standard for sizing, it can get confusing when comparing. Nevertheless, this is interesting to me and I'm betting this is one way you achieve such stunning, and clean, detail. Thanks for sharing.
okay, I have a knit pick. In that last shot the high light on the divot below his nose is brighter then every thing else. Now that is sweaty spot but it looks over white in the front on photo. In the side photo it looks just right. So, maybe it's just the picture?
Also as a usually sweating bald guy I can say that the crown of my head, top of my forehead I mean, is always glaring in the sun like a big pasty beacon. Also my scalp has spots from the sun.
His eyes really read mid-day to me so unless his wife made sure he brought his hat along....
Demi - yes the whites glare out more on certain angles of the photos. Im not planning on using any pigments on his face, I started painting him in a cartoon style but he seems to have turned into a cross of cartoon and realistic !?!
You are right about the top of his head should be a bright glare but when I started to highlight it just didnt look right - like someone had painted the top of his head lol
As for sun spots, I think you are overestimating my painting abilities! He might look like a mean MF but I can assure you he always puts sun screen lotion on the top of his head before battle
The head was looking good before but it looks even better now. The flesh, NMM and cloth set each over off to good effect. I'm really looking forward to seeing this come together.
Whoa, yeah the NMM really nails it. You were talking about your half cartoonish paint job and that really makes sense for the mini now with the NMM. Really working great for me.
I was looking at the highlights on his face again and thinking "he really does look like he is on the verge of sunstroke." Then I saw the threads on your vice and for a second I thought you had added an empty plastic water bottle to the base...
It's been a long day. Maybe I should have some water...
Really, really good 10! No need to speak of you NMM cause they are always perfect, but the high contrast in the skin makes me think I only go half way on my minis. Very impressive!
10, simply excellent! your skills are increasing at a speed which i could not consider possible! And your style is now recognizable, that's a 10's mini! Superb paint job, from the color theme to the execution.
I love it. Thank you for sharing.
