unsure. sounds like a good idea in my brain also but hmmm... perhaps a bit too glossy? if you have some satin gloss it might do the trick.

My guess is that gloss is too much for this scale over the whole thing. My brain is suggesting a matt finish and then gloss in spots where you would put your final highlights.

Got some more done late last night, the fish was looking good then I decided to gloss it and im not sure now, thoughts?

I'd lose the gloss and try a satin finish on the fish. I think it will still give a wet look by way of contrast to the matt finish on the fisherman.
I'm having similar issues with my frog and I think that gloss is just a bit too glossy at a small scale. A glossy wet patch beneath the fish on the dock might help to sell the idea especially if you paint the wet wood a shade darker.
Regardless of the gloss issues it looking really good!

Loose the gloss mate or place it only on the sections which would naturaly catch more light. Other than that its primo.

Gloss just on scales of the main body. Not on the head. Maybe a spot on the base of the tail. Curious as to how it looks in RL compared to a pic. My guess is that it looks much better in person.

Haha. Good for you my friend. Looks to be the perfect painting partner. Unfortunately my painting buddy likes to lay on the miniatures and paint.

Ok here goes... will be running for cover soon... the pic above me here made me think of the look alike competition. That nice dog really have some resemblance with Dragonserach, whatever it is that cute eyes or the mustache i don´t know but the resemblance is there :) :)

Excellent job on this one (like always)! I love the skin, the metal, the cloth, and the little freehand details.

Thanks all, repainted the fish and only added a little gloss as suggested. :)

Got the go ahead to post this now - http://www.coolminiornot.com/360184

Tbh im losing faith in posting to the gallery, my warrior priest bust was at 6.6 this morning which even to the strictest judge is way to low. So I think I might just download my finished projects to Putty & Paint where people only get 1 vote and frankly there are less haters. :(
