Whoa epic! Way better than a clock! I love how he looks like he is thinking about his opponent. The eyes are perfect!

Thanks all :)

Well what a fantastic weekend, a certain Astrophysicist came to stay and there was lots of laughing, people jumping in front of trains, beer, curry, spiders, disappearing / re-appearing electrodes and a shit load of painting!

Gandalf - the flowers are static grass with spots of paint & also some shop brought.

Bloodfather - the tree is a root from the garden with 'flock' etc sprinkled on.

Got loads done, ive blu-tac the skel in place for a visual. Muted all the colours on the 'dead' side with shadow grey to give the nighttime look. Still a WIP but you get the idea.

Just fabulous, it's your best yet for sure! I love the idea & the execution.
I wonder if the green on the skel's sleeve is too much like the green on the life side. Maybe a bit more brown/grey would make the colour more 'dead'.

Huh? ::scratches his head confused::

you did it again ten. You floored me with your oriental bowl dio and now this. I'm starting to wonder if your going to run out of ideas soon. Seriously though I envy your creativity...can I have some please?

This is definitely a gold medal! You know why it's so awesome. By I do have to agree with Sprocket. The skeleton needs less vibrant colors. More natural, earth tones OR use the same colors but they need to be weathered appropriately. Thanks hope that's helpful...

Well Andy (who is a Astro whatever) came over, hence the drinking, painting etc

Yeah was good had a great time! I was treated to excellent Birmingham hospitality i.e. a skinful of lager and a great curry.;) Plus almost constant painting to the point were we had to force ourselves out the door for a drink or we'd have been painting all night as well!

i think I would keep the material on the skeleton but maybe do some dots and spots on it to show water damage or mildew. It's too nice to get rid IMHO.

My only remark with weathering would be that whatever forces acted over time to reduce his sword to a brown rusted stick would be even more damaging to an unpreserved fabric.

I have to ask. What kind of flock exactly was used for the leaves on the tree? I'm just so impressed by it...

I'll pile on and say the skelly needs to be a little darker too. The green sleeves, like Sproket said, are awfully close to the trees. I would love to see this in person. Pretty much why mini painting is so much cooler than 2d painting right there. I mean unless people start painting on both sides of the canvass.

Glad you boys had nice visit! Cheers! :beerwave:

I sure like your idea behind this, seeing the skel in place makes it even better. I have never understood how curry ranks up there with fish and chips as a national dish for you guys. Whats the deal with that? (I am sure I could google it but would rather hear it from a native)
