Looking REAL good, Ten! A real color bomb!

BF, did you try to add some kind of medium when glazing lighter colors? Or changing the medium you usually use? I generally just use water for everything, but for light colors I just use a little bit of water and the rest Lahmian Medium. That works for me.

So essentially, with two brush blending, you need one brush with paint and one clean and damp right? As far as I can tell, you paint with one brush and feather with the damp brush, versus using one brush to apply paint, then clean it, then feather. Is that the basic concept?

Ten perhaps try to go with some rosy skin colour for the highlights on the horns. I use that for some purple and it looks really good. Perhaps something you would want to test.

Just bought this guy to have a go at painting him myself; I think that's probably a good way of saying how much I like what you've done with the mini. Did you attach the head slightly differently though? The head seems to go a lot deeper than yours is and obscures the mouth when I dry fit it together.

Thanks both :)

More wip. Still undecided with the horns. Went red as Kretcher suggested with some rose highlights. Didnt like it last night but looks better this morning. Shall I leave red of glaze to black as Andy suggested??

He's looking really good 10 Ball, I've enjoyed watching him come together and am in awe of the blending.
I'm not 100% convinced about the current horns though, I find the visual weight of the tips is a little heavy so they draw the eye away from the rest of the mini a little. I'm not sure what it is, but it may just be that the strong, dark colour doesn't occur in the main body of the miniature.
It's a pretty minor complaint though, I think he's fantastic, really something to aspire to.

I like the red/rose horns. Maybe you could lighten them up a touch with a highlight - just a little gleam as they catch the light on the upper surface.

Not quite 100% convinced either.
To me that is too much of an echo of the bottom of the robes.
Trouble is not sure what to suggest!

I think your sorcerer is perfect!

I think you have captured the essence of chaos perfectly in this mini, both in concept and execution. It captures the essence of chaos with all the radical and extreme colors that you used. Your color palette is completely unique, and the contrast between the concrete feeling of the gold armor versus the ethereal feeling of the robes is very apparent; in my opinion, you've created a contradiction in a miniature - it is solid and ethereal at the same time.

Also, to top it all off, it actually hurts my eyes to look at this mini... just like it would in the lore of Warhammer Fantasy/40k. When characters look at the raw essence of the warp, their senses were overloaded and their stomachs churned; that's the feeling I get when I look at this mini.

To sum it up, don't change a thing :) You remain an inspirational painter :)
