Well my sculpting is poor but im told my painting is average so back to it :)

Front shot, ive beet tightening up the highlights and adding some glazes of yellow to the skin. As its going to be a snow base there will be a contrast of warm and cold going on.

Also a early shot of his back, im showing this for anyone not getting on with scale 75 paints. You can see the washed out paints showing the blue shading through. This is how scale 75 are and its the magic of them, so as you build up the layers / blends the other colours show through. So dont be put off as first when starting to use them. On saying that for base coating GW base paints with their great pigments are much better for basing.

With small faces (true 28mm and less) you need to go more simply in terms of less blending and more stark harsh shades/highlights. Almost paint like its table top standard but then refine with glazes.
Its a curse really because when your looking at a photo, in your mind you know the plan of attack and then when youve got the mini in front of you you think 'my god it IS small!' :) (my W&N size 1 brush tip was larger than his head)

This guide from white dwarf his very helpful as LOTR minis are 28mm.

Looking good there!

The right arm tribal is really awesome. I actually had to look again as I first thought that it was part of the cast. Magnificent job!
