2008 US Games Day Schedule??

Hey Kev, Herd no official dates yet but the Atlanta no longer rumor keeps getting stronger and stronger.
Though I was told not officially, that Chicago should probably be the last weekend in July again like it has been the previous years.
Likewise, I was told at GD LA this year from an Outrider (or whatever they call them now) friend whom I trust that Atlanta was done because of lower than hoped turnout or growth. I\'ve been to Atlanta and LA each year they\'ve held them, and Atlanta is by far the weakest event, and doesn\'t seem to be well supported by GW either. I only assume Baltimore and Chicago are much larger, judging by the Demons quality at those two. I would be surprised (pleasantly surprised though) if they held Atlanta again.
But back on topic, I haven\'t heard anything about a 2008 schedule yet either.

It was kinda hopin\' they\'d have ATL, considering it\'s right down the road. I guess I\'ll concentrate a bit harder on Gen Con next year and maybe see what I can do there.
Unless I get a wild hair to drive up to Chicago, that is..
Guess we\'ll just have to wait on the announcements...

Glad to see you are planning some competition entries. hopefully I will make it to GenCon this year. If I do, I shall see you on the battlefield!

I for one won\'t miss any Games Days that disappear, right now they feel too watered down for my tastes. The quality of Golden Demon is just part of the equation, there was less new material at each show and the quality of guests probably suffered because these guys actually have to get to work once in a while.
Overall it seems like they should be able to do 3 US Games Days better than 4.
Also random note: Games Day Canada is being run by guys from Retail this year instead of Events or whatevever that department is called. Might benefit from the front lines experience of the people in charge, or might fail horribly due to lacking the \"big picture\" perspective. Come and see!

That\'d be cool. Darin and I are planning GC for 2008. Not sure what else, yet. I\'ve competed in the past few, but this\'ll be D\'s first.
Gen Con is a pretty cool contest---I\'ve won a little something every time I\'ve been, and this last time I apparently came pretty dang close to winning something in single.
There\'s a lot of synergy to be explored in the contest, too---between contest, manufacturer, and special awards. And don\'t forget the PP contest...
It\'ll be a blast for you, if you get to go. I like it over Games Day, but I do like them both.
Under any circumstance, if you go---let D or me know to look for you. My significant other and I loves steak, sushi, drinks, and laughs----so, if you\'re up for any of that, we can get all get sloshed and increase our mercury to blood ratio.

Honestly I was considering skipping this year\'s Atlanta GD anyway. I just seriously doubt I\'m going to have time to put together the entries I want to do this time around. Hell, I\'ve got an unfinished one from last year that\'s still sitting in exactly the same spot.
One idea was ReaperCon, or maybe a roadtrip to a later-in-the-year GD.
I just don\'t know yet; already got a long list of higher priorities piling up for 2008 and we haven\'t even made it out of 2007 yet. Hee.

Why Chicago instead of Baltimore, out of curiousity? An extra month for entry prep?
The drive to Baltimore is not as annoying as the drive to Chicago for some reason. LA, however, is totally out of the question for me as it\'s too expensive a trip.
For some reason, I\'ve never considered going to a GenCon... why, I dunno. When is GenCon?

GD Toronto is scheduled for June 21st. That\'s from Craig Bodycote and Cory Burns. It\'s going to be at a new location, the Conventionc enter increased their price too much.
Sad for the Rumours of Atlanta, I wanted to collect a Trophy from each North American location...

Yes please come to Gen Con and enter and better yet, Teach..pays for your trip..trust me.. if your interested in teching classes talk to Paintminion..on CMON..she Queen of Paint at Gen Con.
