Hello

I noticed a little while a go an advertisement for a 40k forum and was quite surprised to see one of the figures I had painted on it. I am honoured that they would want to use it but also at the same time a bit disappointed I was not asked first. I don't want to make to much of a fuss about it but does any one know what sorts of rights I would have here? Are they actually allowed to use it? I would be happy for people to use my images but I wish they would ask first =(.

As far as I'm aware it is indeed a bit naughty to use other peoples images in this manner without prior consent. Not sure of the legalities aside from the fact that if the image is copyright that it is a clear case of a big no no. Chern should be able to answer this more fully. Even in the case of the CMoN annual, even though artists pictures are displayed here, the CMoN team ask for submissions without just saying "That'll do, slap that in it" So i'm guessing there's something more to it.

Hi Tom,
We own 40k.com right now, so the banner guy was instructed to pull images from the gallery and inform the artists. Looks like a breakdown in communication there, do let me know if you want us to pull your figs from the ad.

A direct answer with no threats? I don't see a single command or any form of insult. Are you sure you're really a businessman, Chern Ann?

*tongue in cheek*

Hello, thanx for the reply. I have no problem with my picture being used in the advert. They must have used the picture I submitted for the 2009 annual as the one in my gallery is a different picture. At least now it makes a bit of sense because I was wondering where they had got the picture from......
