Brace yourselves... super geeky questions are on their way!

This is mostly based on how weathering would take effect on Eldar armour. IYO, could you expect to find rust on vehicle and infantry armour? Also, is the two types of armour constructed from similar material?
I know that the answers will mostly be guesswork to a certain degree, but any advice would be welcome!
What I\'m trying to achieve, is a diorama with infantry and support weapons under siege, but I wasnt sure wether nicks and chips would look similar on the diffirent armour types

If I were painting damaged Eldar I would probably do bone or white chipping, just I imagine that Eldar armour is some sort of plastic or fiberglass construct, like an exoskeleton.
I certainly don\'t think it would rust.

I may be wrong, but I don\'t know much about Eldar stuff.

Peace and love...

as far as i remembe the armor was made from high quality ceramite or another high quality plastic. so most would have some chipping but not tons. most of the time though i would imagine there being dust on their outfits though. i would do the diorama taking place on a red sand world and show red dust and grime towards the bottom of the figures legs and possibly on their fronts and very little on the backs to show a wind sweaped world. you could even make the sand look like its blowing in one direction as well.

hope this helps.

eldar armour is made from phyco-plastic which hardens when struck, so i imgine it would sort of reform, but i think it would have a lot of dustuf they wre under seige

i think scorch marks would be better as hestan101 says eldar armour is plyable to give best movement and agility so any damage unless devastating would be reformed shortly after being struck

Eldar Geek Fluff moment.
Eldar make vehicles out of Wraithbone a Psycho-Plastic material their Wraith Singers (type of Farseer) grow.
Therefore expect differing kind of damage, not Metalic more like a Ceramic.

lookup bones on google - a sort of \"knitted\" semi-organic texture is how I\'d imagine it.

i agree with everything said, i think you should go for a very moderate chipped look, plus i like the idea Ubderdark has. eldar under siege won´t have any possibility too clean their armor, so dust at the joints, and rims of the armor.

My idea: use very subtle blendings with translucent color to create different shades on different parts of the eldar to indicate spots of heavy use/worn out material

by the way, thats the first time i ever heard of someone whi wants to paint weathered eldar. so i hope we´re going to see some photos.
