It\'d work better if they didnt do anything from the point of view of the marines, but from that of those around them, like the commisairs and guardsmen. When rumours where flying round of a film a while back, i heard some one say what i thought to be a pretty good suggestion. follow a squad of guardsmen on some grim as sin world lost in war, and have the marines come at the end, probably with much slow sound effects and orchestral music

The Gaunt\'s Ghosts series would be an awesome start to a movie franchise. 40K fans will be able to see all of the cool stuff (Space Marines, Traitor Marines, Daemons, Inquisitors, maybe some Titans), but it would be seen from the perspective of normal men who are uncommonly good at war and probably little else. There\'s room for these characters to grow a bit, and this would also be accessible to old grognards like my uncle, who really just likes a good war movie.

Ultramarines could also be good - Chern Ann makes a very good suggestion - but the popular expression of the boys in blue tends to be that they are good at EVERYTHING, all the time, and are noble and uncorrupted by this grimy universe. Whee, hero porn...

GW would have to wipe some dirt on them to create dramatic tension and character development. While they might be willing to do this in a book, I have my doubts that they would do so in a movie. But I could be wrong - and I\'d like to be - so I\'m pretty sure I\'ll be seeing whatever they put out at least once.
