40k Radio closes!

Hi all. just want to let folks know that 40k Radio is closing its podcast due to threats to the shows family members.

I’m not sure what to say. I’m shocked by the actions of certain web
dwellers and saddened by the news. I’m kinda hoping that when I visit
the site in a couple of weeks I will find that everything is back to normal
although I think that won’t be the case. Spencer has been through hell
recently and i can only shake my head in disappointment to the types of
people that would target such an individual.

A PROUD SPONSER OF 40K RADIO!

Ploughing through the comments on that link it would appear that a show member made a racist comment, apologised, and carried on. Someone took extreme offence & started harrassing the family of a different cast member, including mocking a recent personal tragedy. These threats have caused the cancellation of the show. Any listensers able to expand/correct that?
Shame, I only found out about 40K Radio yesterday!
Cheers, B.

I dunno "racist comment" could easily be a misunderstood statement these days with the PC brigade running about trying to wipe out anything that could even be construed (in any way) as racist.
An example of just how bloody stupid it is, is a lass where I used to work that played the race card thick and heavy. Some bloke only asked for a new pen, when she asked what colour he said "black" then she ended up off for a month with "stress"...

People need to grow up.

The minute I find out there's a radio programme dedicated to one of my hobbies and I find out in the same minute that they're out of commission. (if temporarily)

Hope they're back on the aether soon and I'll give them a listen. "Don't feed the Yao Guai. That is all."

I've been listening to 40k radio on and off for about 2 months now. Their show has seen a decline in quality recently which seems to be caused by personal responsibilities on the show hosts (newborns). It was recently that the main host (Spencer) literally kicked off the other two co hosts since he felt they didn't play Warhammer 40k enough.

Although the message(s) he received seemed totally out of line, I highly doubt he stopped 40k radio solely b/c of that. Spencer more than likely realized he shot himself in the foot when he kicked out the two other co hosts (the three of them had a good dynamic and did well in the show). After trying to run the show the the 'new' guy that dropped the "n-word" on a previous show, Spencer probably realized it wasn't going anywhere good and the 'threats' he received gave him a good reason to close up shop. Personally, I think if he was less of a control freak and actually apologized to the previous co hosts and brought them back, the show would've kept on running fine.

Too bad for the WH community but then again, there is World's End Radio which seems a lot better planned and executed. - My 2 cents.
