40k Railroads

I have read a few 40k books and yet I have found no mention of trains and railroads. Do they still exist in the future?

Depends on which of the countless planets of the imperium you look at. I\'m betting that they have them somewhere on some planet in some system in the 40k universe.

they do there is a great sequence in one of the eisenhorn books involving a big (intercontinental i htink) train. read them all because they are good. also, i think ihave read about muintions trains and (again in a dan abnett book - necropolis i think) public transport.

be sure to post pics - have wanted do something like that for a while. especially having played half life 2 recently. love trains depots like that. should be easy enough to do (famous last words). use a load of scale railway stuff and sci-fi it up alittle. thats the beauty with 40k - it can be a backwater planet and have really old fashiond stuff.

I would suppose that the mining planets would have them since the squats used to have this gigantic train to go at war in.

There used to be a great picture by Rodney Mathews I\'ll see if I can find it, it was also the Cover of a Diamond Head album calle Am I Evil, or it may have been Living on Borrowed Time that the same pic appeared on. That is how I always imagined a 40K train would look.

Kinda looks like an epic imperial ship. Transport or fuel carrier maybe...looks like it would be fun to mock up though. Cant wait for some pics.

Well, beside the fact that at least a couple of worlds in the Imperium would be likely to have trains, there\'s a scene in one of D. Abnett\'s Eisenhorn novels, where there\'s a fight taking place... on a riding train...

Read the Gaunts Ghosts novels by Dan Abnett..they use trains in them all the time to haul the troops to the front in different books.
