40k Santa

It seems I'm having some fun this holiday season. I had bought that mini last year but only recently I had enough time to sit down and paint it. It was a departure from my usual painting style. I went for bolder highlights and less glazing/ blending. I guess it's more of a "fantasy" rather than a "sci-fi" paintjob. Or it may be that I tend to associate bold paintjobs with fantasy minis and more mutted ones with sci-fi minis.

To emphasize the fantasy/ sci-fi contrast even more I went for a more mutted paintjob on the elements of the base such as the streetlight and the meltabomb. The idea is that Santa got lost and somehow ended up in 40k so I wanted to show some kind of missmatch between Santa and the environment he's in.

Did it work out well? Does it need improvement? Well I guess I'll let you answer these questions. ;) Cheers!

I'm glad you enjoyed the mini. I might make it a "regular feature" to paint holiday themed minis every year. I know it's early but for next year my holiday themed mini must include gretchin/ goblins, my favourite "funny" creatures. :)
