40K Single Entry

Hey everyone, this is my still very WIP entry for 40K Single at Chicago Games Day next weekend. The body is almost done now I need to finish the arms. The second pic is older but it shoes th emodel with arms. I think I might change the case on his chest to the same color as the armour.

C&C very much appriciated. I\'m hoping to at least make first cut!

Its looking good could do with a few shots from the back etc to give full coments on it though. The red is looking good, I think that the case thing on the chest does look a bit out of place but changing it to the colour of the armour might just make it get lost if you know what I mean. Maybe a close up of it may allow for a few more ideas. But its looking good so far, the pose with the arms is very nice good work so far.

I like the colourscheme. Do you have any close up pictures so we may be able to offer more advice?

Hey thanks for the input. I\'ll get a close up of the chest today. It is just the Inquisitor symbol with a gem where the skull was though. The more I look at it the more I think it does need to be the color it is because your right it might get lost otherwise. My only fear is its not gold enough, for some reason I couldn\'t get my NMM to work for it.

I\'ll get a back shot but right now there really isn\'t anything there except for the cloak. So I will make sure to photograph my freehand on the back when I start it.

Orky; The only close up I have is of the face right now, I\'ll take some more today.

The arm is really NMM Gold, not RMM Bronze. I\'ll try to get a better pic of it.

it\'s hard to say from the pics but the one thing that stands out as needing attention particularly for GD is the face..at the moment it appears quite dark and with the dark armour (which I like ) it just sort of get\'s lost a touch maybe a bit more careful highlghting to brng out the features and draw more attention to the all important eyes..time\'s a ticking though chief..good luck

Alright I\'m still working. I finished the arm, save a few touch ups before sealing. I might lighten it depending on my friends opinion tomorrow.

he looks fine, but as said be sure the face is \"shining\" it needs to be a serious focalpoint for such a dark mini.

Hey guys, here some freehand I did on another model to see how it looks. I\'m not sure if it is enough for Stern though, what do yall think?

Yeah, I think the sign would be enough for him, sometimes you can go over the top with freehand and ruin the piece

Anyway, what model is it that you tested the freehand on? Looks cool I must say

Thanks, I\'m going to practice and see if I can work another piece into it as well.
The model is from Confrontation, Praetorian Guard box. I\'ll paint the rest of the box as well just they won\'t have heads or arms unless I find them!
