I guess VIncenti meant this comment for the general feeling of the mini, as he prolly knows a bit about heraldry himself
Heraldry... I\'m sure there was a clan somewhere which decided:

Unfortunately they we\'re quickly dispatched by the the arrow fire of an ally clan who mistaken them for the enemy.

Well first off I applaud you for putting up pictures where we can see the details - there are artists on here who publish small pics and get higher marks!
Something that I think could help would be to get a sharper delineation between colours; not such a blurred edge - it\'s all a little fuzzy.
And then be daring and push the highlights more. For example, the shields on the horses robey thing (rubbish at terms). Imagine these were stitched onto the green material beneath - therefore paint an extreme red highlight at the top of the shield to \"seperate\" it.

Still deserves a 6 at least, and I can see people do agree on that, as it\'s moving away from 5.2 (5.6 now) There are things that can be improved (think we covered that in the thread about the other knight) But on this particular one I can say that the banner hanging from the trumpet really pulls it down for me. There is no distinguishing the grail from the banner and the white looks way too lumpy.
Other than that, I think we need to applaud the extensive freehand work on the barding, as that is by far the best looking part, the horsie

lol, no, i meant *I* was being creepy by replying so fast.... it looks like its doing a bit better now, but what is more important is that you understand that you are improving - you aren\'t in a slump. perhaps try something different when you are done with the knights, something smaller so you can spend more time on each part. i wouldnt suggest the skaven though - they rarely do well.
Oh yeah, I know the Skavens are gonna suck, nobody likes the Skavens and me neither.
But they have to be done, I can\'t be that selective about the commisions I take.

i like the skaven
here is mine
she also happens to be the last mini that got me worked up because of the score. they can be fun, and its a great opportunity to practice your gem techniques on all that warp stone.

The Geoffrey of Monmouth accounts are much more entertaining and 300 years or so closer to the actual period. The \'romance\' is also non-existent...Geoffrey tells of a situation where Lancelot slaughtered the leaders of an opposing army whilst supposedly under the cover of a \'white flag\'.

I love Skaven! And my latest submission isn\'t doing half bad (for me anyway.) How can you not love rats with gas masks?! C\'mon! Rats with gas masks!!

@GreenOne: If you want to follow GW\'s \'fluff\', then realize that Brettonian knights never wear green (themselves, or their steeds). The only knight who wears green, is, well, the Green Knight .

Hey Green, I saw your first mini posted on the site, how long have you been painting? Because if you just picked up brush in march, and this Musician, which you\'re bummed about is your most recent work, I can tell you that you are progressing MUCH faster than I ever did! Anything worth doing is earned through practice, and if anyone else doesn\'t like it, I\'ll kick them in the kneecaps!
I knew saying skaven where bad would get me a reaction, lol.
@Ainulainour: Wish I knew that earlier I wonder why that would be... ralation with the wood elves maybe.
@Dougaderly: I started on February 14th, in fact, after 18 months of pondering. Glad I took the step.
Everybody says I should be proud of the progress I made, and I am. But it\'s not luck or a gift, I really paint more than I work, 40-50 hours a week, since I begun the serious work on the brits. And nowhere near geting tired, minis saved me from a very troubled time, and I want to make it up to them. It\'s a passion, a sideline and an incredible therapy for me.
After all that, my musician is at 5.9.. a much acceptable note, thank you all for your support

This reminds me of the last D&D campaing I created which was based a bit on the skaven concept. My and my co-dm where planning on overunning Faerun with mutant rats of all size and definition, that would have been a blast!

We played it with 5-7 player until level 6 and it was our best game yet... probably our last as well.
