Ok, I was at Disneyland today. I went because I have an annual pass. And let me tell you, if I didn\'t have one it wasn\'t worth the amount of a ticket! First off I felt like a freaking cow. Its starts off taking 30 minutes to get into the parking structure. Then once in being herded in to one opening to get in, while there are more that are not open. THEN!!! To have to stand in line, even before getting to the park for someone to buy a ticket, they have to be inspected, PURSE and all. If you had to buy a ticket, 3 or 4 booths are open while there are 7-8 not being used. Ok then next, Standing shoulders to shoulder to the people around you. You’re stepping on people’s feet, and they, yours. Your not moving and (smelly) people are rubbing themselves against you hoping to move quicker, BUT ITS NOT HAPPENING. AND I\'m moooooing all the way! The workers are telling you to move forward, but you cant. You try, but you’re just not moving. Then you have the stupid people with strollers who stand in the middle of a walkway blocking the flow of traffic, for no apparent reason! Then ok, so we woke up early to get there before all the traffic, we were sooooo wrong. So, we are hungry. And find only 2 of the breakfast places are open. The other\'s are being used by the freaking Media channels. So, of course there is a long line. Were hungry, so well wait. Well, we stood in line soooo long that, the breakfast menu turned in to the lunch menu. Well I pretty much had enough at that point, and left.

The castle\'s color was changed. It looks atrocious. It went from something that looked decent / realistic (well for a theme park), to this pink / pastel looking thing with crowns. Sometimes going overboard can ruin something, and they ruined it beyond all repairs!

This is just my rant at, an event that they knew was coming but did not prepare! For the expected crowds.

Owie. That doesn\'t sound like fun in the Magic Kingdom.

I never deal with crowds well anyway. I think that would\'ve driven me psychotic.

@Equas - short drive??? lol

LP, sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience. Doesn\'t sound like typical Disney to me... somebody must have screwed the pooch. We were just in Disney in Orlando about a month ago and everything was cool and smooth as could be.

Try again another time, hopefully it will go better.

Cheers,
Grumb

Hinting that I\'m not that far from being psychotic or Disneyland, hmmm? :D

Agreed...I probably would want to go during the \"off season\".

My advice for waiting in long line-ups...

Four friends and I went to Canada\'s Wonderland, last summer, on one of the discount days they occasionally have. The traffic was, for most, miserable, but we didn\'t care. Why??

We had....

THE SHREK SOUND TRACKS!

Picture 5 people, aged 31-36 singing and \'dancing\' in a Hyundai. People driving past us were all giving us funny looks, and I heard, through my open window, someone asking her boyfriend \"Why aren\'t we having fun like them?\" as they drove by.

We didn\'t go on many rides or anything... we\'re old for such a park, but several times through the day, we were pointed out by people that had noticed us in the line-up for parking.

It isn\'t what you do. It\'s who you do it with that makes the memories. :D

Good music and a casual disregard for what anyone thinks about how silly you\'re being is a good thing.

@ Naukhel
Yea it remindes me of a few stories my friends once told me. :D
1. Going through a drive through backwards while high.
and two,
Went out to lunch on a hot summers day, rolled up the windows on the car and blasted the heater. Just so when they got out of the car it would be cool :)

Don\'t really want to go to Disney again

We went to Disney about 4 years ago and were totally spoiled. It was a Make-a-Wish trip for our son. We got special parking passes near the \"train\" station, special passes on our persons that allowed us to go to the front of the lines, got free pictures that they take around the parks - it was GREAT! I never want to go again because it\'s just not going to be the same!

I did Disney last summer. In August. It was about 98º. We got there about 12 hours after the first hurricane hit. Most of the rides were down the first couple days. Went to Seaworld. They wouldn\'t let any of the sea-critters out because the storm had contaminated all the show pools. So we paid 40 bucks apiece to watch an indoor cat & dog show. Halfway through the week we went to Universal. It rocked! Finished the last night there by going to medieval times. Our knight won. YAY! In conclusion:

Disney was boring
Seaworld Sucked
The timeshare was great!
Universal was off the Sheezy (thats what my kids told me)
Medieval times was cool, got great pics

The second hurricane was on its way in the day we left. Thank God I don\'t live in Florida.

If I ever go back to Orlando I think I\'ll skip Disney and go to Universal all week. That Mummy ride was awesome! :D

hey cool!!

That Medieval times thing sounds very cool. We tried to find one within driving distance from Iowa a few months back.

Post some pics sometime!!

Oh, man.. you should\'ve said something. My uncle has friends that work at Epcot.. could\'ve gotten in free! But yeah, even then, crowds are huge, despite limiting the number of guests now. Everyone whose read the comics knows how THAT turned out!:

Heh...

In EuroDisney (smaller/cheaper/staffed by french people who are lovely but not exactly known for their diplomacy/customer relations/tolerance of the thick etc) they allegedly had a major problem with staff referring to the palce as \'Mouseshvitz\'.

The company apparently responded as you might imagine by threatening immediate dismissal to any employee using the term.

No problemo, some wag immediately came up with the name \'Duckau\':bouncy:
