ok all...my first wip post...woohoo...
i saw some jokin\' references that a rasta marine would be cool in dan\'s thread about brother artemis...funny enough, i made one when artemis first came out...
he needs some repairs, a new base, and a bit of love on the 7 year old paintjob, but i thought i would just throw up some quick pics to entertain the people...
his sword needs some repairs at the wrist, one of the dreads is loose, and those old flat bases are horrible...when i get around to fixin\' him, he will be my avatar, and business card pic...
the hair is green stuff around fine wire drilled into his head, and the nose has been sculpted...please to enjoy...

Thats fantastic mate! I LOVE it!

But for even MORE authenticity you should sculpt a little bong hanging somewhere...

lol That\'s awesome! I think you should totally redo the dreads though - they look a bit too huge, and are out of sync with the rest of the mini.

here\'s a close up of the head, so the resculpted nose is more visible...

@matty: two 7\'s clash is a great old album...culture was mindblowin\' when they played in amsterdam, even after all these years...much better vibe than when they play in the states(wonder why:D)...

@bill: there are as many different size dreadlocks as there are different kinds of hair...my fattest one is as thick as my arm!!! in jamaica, the fattest locks i\'ve seen were as thick as my leg!!!
that said, the locks are terrible...this was my first use of greenstuff for anything more than fillin\' gaps...my greenstuff skills are much better now than they were 7 years ago...

@everyone: this guy does not need a bong...ya don\'t wanna spill that nasty water on your nice armour...he could do with a spliff though...

thanks for lookin\'...

cheers

@nick232: those are metallics...i don\'t do nmm...
i guess i should say something about my paintin\' style here...
i came up in the \'eavy metal style of paintin\' school...
i still have a very old school approach to paintin\'...no blendin\', no nmm, no osl, none of the trendy paint styles that are hot right now...
i like what people are doin\' with these techniques and styles, but it\'s not for me...i\'m still workin\' on perfectin\' my comicbook approach to paintin...i\'ve come a long way since this guy was painted, as you\'ll all see as i put more pics of my work here...i\'m influenced by comics, grafitti, and traditional tattoos...
my style has been called simple, graphic, and a few other not so nice things:D...
what i have always been reachin\' for is a paintin\' style that is instantly recognizable...i love when i see a mini, or a painting or drawing, and can instantly identify the artist...

more to come soon...
thanks for all the comments...

cheers

Well count me on the list that like your style and I couldn\'t agree more about liking it when I see a mini and instantly identify who painted it.

Now show us more of your style by posting on the votey thingie. :drunk:
