they\'re ok...
The pots are great - got ours shipped from the UK with nary a leak. Ordered some empties as well which will be very useful. The rim extends a wee way into the bottle (which helps keep the seal), and there\'s a generous lip so spillage is so much less likely! The lids are much easier to open than the old white-top bottles too, the number of times I\'ve spilled paint all over me and the cat by pushing too hard...
The actual paint? I really like the colours (although tanned flesh isn\'t really that fleshy - maybe a good base colour for caucasian flesh). I\'ve been using catachan green, desert yellow and the kommando khaki colour over the last couple of days to paint some Cadians, and I\'m less than impressed. While the colours are good, they\'ve got the same problem I found in the V. Game colour line - not enough pigment dammit! So, to cover a white undercoat with the catachan green I had to mix in black and do two coats to get it the \'right\' shade. Not a great thing for army painting.
To shade desert yellow I mixed in a couple of drops of my beloved Flat Brown, only to find it made the whole thing too dark, and trying to lighten it with more DY didn\'t work, so I had to throw in all of two drops of yellow ochre which instantly got it where I wanted it.
Khaki? barely does anything on adding it to pure DY. It\'d probably work as an intermediate highlight in it\'s pure form, but I just added a little bit of Buff and it worked wonders.
So - love the colours, but really hate the lack of pigment. They\'re nice and smooth, but I prefered most of the other GW paints. They\'re kinda like Golden Yellow in pigment concentration - pretty much scottish fitba association of it.
