7th Edition

I have heard some speculations about the new 7th edition rulebook, is this true, if it is when will it be released. Also if it isn\'t but does get released later in some time, what will the new rulebook do, will all the armies benefit, actually what does it do, if anyone remembers what did the 6th edition do to replace the 5th one, what were the benefits, if the book is going to be released will all the armies be balanced once and for all, or will it do something else.
I am a bit confused.
Any info much appreciated.:)

They haven\'t even updated all the armies for 6th edition yet and here comes 7th edition. Kinda wish they would just leave the rules alone a bit personally.

When 6th ed. was released, it was a major change to 5th. I don\'t think that the rules need that much updating, kinda like when the new 40K rulebook was released. Only a few things need changing eg the to hit chart in CC. Its seems kinda strange that the most skilled swordsmen in the old world have a 1 in 3 chance of missing a goblin or a zombie.

I didn\'t like that dragons , which are big nasty beast in all fantasy, had weapon skill of 3. Atleast the Zombie Dragon did.

And Flagellants had a 2! ???

&th edition will probably just tie in all the errata rules that have happened over the 5-6 years of 6th edition. There are alot of bugs in the rules because of the specialty armies (ie ogres vs steam tanks. because they cause impact hits they must also take a d6 s6 hit).

I doubt that the armiy books will be rewritten but I wouldnt go buying any till 7th edition is released.

Like seanzala said, I don\'t think the next one will be a major change. For the last few, its been a cycle of major change edition followed by minor change edition. For warhammer, we\'re due a minor change one.

Aside from anything else, if major changes were being made, we\'d have seen hints of it in the newer army books, as they would have to make sure they were compatible with any new rules modifications. It\'s taken years and years to get a new Wood elf book out, I doubt they\'d want to invalidate it in 6 months to a year

Yer Vike it will be something like that. But dont be surprised if they do a rehash. With GW taking a big hit over sales last year they may try something radicle (read stupid) to try and regain thier sales figures.

It will be touched up, not re-doing the whole entire rules. There well be a \'Mines of Moria\'/\'Battle For Macragge\' boxed set also released which will feature dwarfs versus goblins, based on the fall of Bugman\'s Brewery. :D

Wow... 7th edition will basically just stop all the loop holes that appear in the current 6th and simplify some things that cause arguements at your local gaming club, same as 4th edition did for 40k (well kinda)

Going from 5th to 6th was insane (just imagine being 13, just finished getting 5th down and then o heres 6th edition, huge changes and chunk all your old rulebooks and supplements out the door.. :flame:)

Well actually today some pics of this boxed set \'dwarves Vs goblins\' appeared on several different forums (I counted 4 of them including this one) and there are also rumors about release dates in october linked to the 7th ed. release.

Anyway I doubt that GW will drastically change the rules as it was for 5-6th ed. passage, since if they want to completely turn the rules over, we\'ll get back to hero-hammer with 1500 pts Chaos lords on dragons with 15 attacks S7 and 2+ Ws...

It\'s much more likely for GW to make 7th ed. more like a 6.1 ed. with all the errata and the specific cases that appeared in the Q&A (like the ogres Vs steam tank).

Seeing as they already are re-doing the Dwarves, I can\'t see why they would stop there an not re-do the rest of them.

I am as frustrated as anyone else though, they finally put out the Wood Elf book (been waiting 5 years) and I hear in the store while looking at it that 7th is coming.

I would have much prefered just seeing a new rulebook released (like they did for 40K) instead of a whole new boxed game. Though I did hear rumors in the Ottawa store that they will be releasing the rulebook lately.

As for the change from 5th to 6th, you should have tried what I did, from 2nd to 6th... talk about a change!

I really hope they don\'t make any of the fine models I have picked up in the last 5 years useless again.

Damn, why dwarves and gobbos? I hate Dwarves... couldnt it be like, wood elves and Dark elves or somfing?
And why bugmans brevery? Thats allready been scenarioriset in white dwarf...

Well, if i know GW, then theyll propably make anything that work\'d in 6th edition useless, and nef asll good stuff...

It\'s classic fantasy stuff, both armies have a lot of plastic minis (easy for world production), and they\'re natural enemies. It also lets them work on the fluff without changing everything.

If like you were suggesting they did Wood elves and Dark elves that would alienate the elf haters ... not very good for business.

Last time, for 6th edition, you could get the book seperately, they did the same for WH40K 4th edition, it would be surprising if you couldn\'t get the WH 7th edition book alone.

I\'m quite impressed with the sheer amount of models you get in the box. Over 100 models

If this is at the same price level as the Battle for Maggrage and Moria boxed sets (£40 in uk) then it is damn good value
