It was my Sophomore year of college in North Carolina. I had just walked into my earliest class to hear someone talk about a plane hitting one of the towers. No one had detals, so we just speculated. I thought it had to be just a little cesna that had an accident. A few minutes later someone came in and talked to the professor, who immeiately released us.
I got back to my room, turned on the TV, and was watching for a few minutes before the second plane hit. I remember watching it happen, unable to believe it was real. I was glue to my TV for the rest of the day.
It was rough for me, because my girlfriend at the time was going to college just outside of New York city, but she and classmates could go into the city at any time, and it was a Christian college, so students could be in the city doing ministry work at any given time. I tried calling as soon as I heard about it, but all circuits were busy. Didn\'t get to talk to her until well after 8 that night.
Watching the towers fall was one of the most surreal experiences of my life.
