Hi y\'all!

I\'m pretty glad to be posting today, in fact I\'m extatic! After two weeks of intense painting I\'m done with him, so I give it to you my Malekith on Dragon:

Of course, that ain\'t no GD stuff yet, and you guys are hard to impress, but I still feel I covered a lot of ground with this one piece.

So what do you people think?

Great job on getting it done! I no how much of a task it is painting larger things, i just dont have the paitence! Well done, above TT standard IMO. Voted.

It is kind of hard to finish big pieces like that, at some point you just can\'t see the end. I think if it hasn\'t been a commision I might have drifted to some other project and never ended it
I miss single characters though, these are really the most fun, one guy, one base, maybe a horse...

He\'s hovering at 6.3 now, well I don\'t expect so much from the voting system right now,

green one, thats a serious piece of work there. i have enough trouble finishing one little guy, much less a monster of this fellows size. as far as ratings are concerned, the system is totally fncked, esp. of late - its been brutal around here (i have my own personal theory that because 8+ minis are selected more frequently than others, that 8 is becoming the standard, but thats another thread). i really like the different color choice, nice and bright, and the two dominant colors go well with eachother. the wings, which lack \"intensity\" dont seem to match the rest of this beast though. id like a few close up shots of important parts of the dragon too, i really like the stippling effect on the skin but it doesnt show with these shots. the mouth could use a darker wash, or something to make the details really pop. malekith is very nicly done, very clean - with solid metallics and a smooth (but shiny) cape. a very ambitious piece, and probably great for the learning process. whats next ?

I totally agree that the vote thing is f*cked, It\'s not about my scores or rank, I just can\'t figure how it could get less than the skavens, It\'s a more interesting fig, better paintjob ( I know it, I did it.) and better pics, but more than half a point lower
Anyway, I got comments from painters I care about, and my \'clients\' are happy, so who gives a f*ck about digits anyway. It was a whole lot of learning too.
I was running out of juice when I worked the wings, so they are quite plain I agree, and I know it\'s usually a good place to show off. However theyre is a little more work on them that shows on the pics.
I took the pics of Malekith shortly after varnishing, so it might explain the gloss on the cape.
The stippley thing was a good concept I think, easy to do and not much of an achievement.. and a good way to distract from a few transitions i did not like
It kind of goes with the idea that the GW dragons are mostly like big, lethal horses lol

Thanks for noticing, and it was very fun too, from destroying the horse to painting the blood... I\'m taking quite a liking in gore
