A blog of randomness

Hey ladies and gentlemen. It's been about a decade since I have actually posted on here, and even longer since I created my own thread. Well okay, huge exaggeration. But the point being it has been awhile.

I've just been getting back into basic tabletop painting after a 9 month break from all hobby related aspects due to frustrations with some things in real life and some hobby related issues. But now I am back. As I said I have been doing Tabletop painting again, but I have found serious motivation to get ready for the jump back to display painting.
So I thought I would post a small blog here for constructive comments as I progress.
The idea is working my way up to the level I would like to be, and begin working on a couple of small projects for Games Day 2011 in Chicago.

I suppose I have said enough at this point that anyone making it to here is bored and wanting pictures.
Unfortunately, there will never be pictures here. :p just kidding.
I just wanted to make an initial post, with one or two photo's to get the ball rolling. I will have pictures of my current project tomorrow.

This is from a piece I am doing for a good friend to try to help motivate him to actually paint his Black Templar army. The rest of the model is being done piece by piece and I only have this picture at the moment.

This piece is my single entry to mini-golden demon at the local store for those of us who couldn't make it to the actual demons. It took first overall.

Well that is about it on my photobucket account. I'll being the progress of the miniature I am currently starting to take a break from army painting tomorrow.
Cheers,
Aj

Alright, well I didn't get a WIP shot of this guy, but I finished him up last night around 4 am. I spent roughly 9 hours start to finish on him and am quite pleased with the results. It was something different from what I normally paint.

Yeah. I am trying to make due with what I have on hand, so I am using my Iphone camera to take the pictures. Hopefully once I am back home I can get better pictures using my digi cam!

Alrighty, well it has been a slow couple of days. I'm still not at my own house so bear with me on these photo's as they're all from my phone.

First off we have a Terminator Chaplain to go with the arm I posted initially.

Then a skeleton I did as a random piece

And that's it for now. I began sculpting a temporary necromancer last night. I'll get some pics tonight. It'll be my first almost complete from scratch sculpt! :)

Alright I did more work tonight on my first scratch sculpt. When 90% scratch sculpt. I only used the chest, hands, 3 skeleton heads and the two pieces on the base, the rest is greenstuff. :)

A lot more I'd like to do but since he is meant to be a temporary solution to a necromancer I don't plan on doing much more than cleaning him up a bit.
Took me two nights to sculpt him. Luckily since he is covered in robes I really didn't do much more than a thin frame of wire under it. The skeleton torso is pinned onto the wire and the rest is sculpted around it.
All in all though I am quite please and think I may redo him shortly, perhaps new and improved larger scale?
