A build up of a Ultramarine Force so far.

Hi all. I\'ve recently been commissioned to do a large Ultramarine force and i thought it would be good if i did a WIP of it as i go along. I shall take More photos of the force sometime soon.

Heres a Forgeworld Dreadnought that I\'m doing. I still need to do some things to it yet but tell us what you think.

Wonderful job . There is just one thing that really strikes me as wrong : you forgot the gun-barrel holes on the gattling . Can\'t wait to see the complete army though .

Very cool, I especially like the weathering on the barrel on the base, how did you achieve that effect?

I would agree with green stuff though that the gun barrels would look better drilled out, it would finish off the model nicely

Can\'t wait to see the rest, can you give us a run-down of which models are going to be in the army

Wow. Thanks all for your comments. I take it my customer will be happy then. Yeah drilling the barrels is something i should of done at the start but oh well...lesson learnt

@KingM(matt) The rocky base was given a couple of washes with greens/browns and the barrel with a wash black ink/brown ink then a orange wash in selected areas. I still need to do a little more work on the base yet, as well as other things.

The force consists of:

4th company
Captain Ardias
Command squad
30 Tactical marines
10 Dev marines
10 Assault marines

1st Company
Calgar box set
Cassius
Tigurius
1x Gw dreadnought
1x FW dreadnought
10 Terminators
10 Tyrannic war veterans.
Damocles command rhino
The list seams to be growing....

*edited: I\'ve just looked at Bushidos work and i got to say that these are nowhere near as good as his work..sorry Not enough time was spent on these to achieve the level of painting that Bushido does. I hope you will still enjoy looking at a Ultramarine huge force though.

Well, maybe not skillwise, but really, i havent seen such a striking space marines since Bushidos squad. Well placed colours, as the whites really crown the feel when put in correct place in Ultra Marine scheme.

That is quite a large force to be doing, something like that would take me quite a while to do (although I only paint in my spare time), how long do you reckon it will take you?

I bet the customer will grow the list even further when you send them the shots of these models, is this a force for gaming with?

@KingM: It has taken me longer than expected. So far i have done:
Both Dreadnoughts
20 Tactical
10 Terminators I can\'t really guess how long it has taken me so far..

Yes he is happy with my work so far and doesn\'t mind waiting a little longer.

I\'m currently finnishing the ten assault troops.

I will be posting more pics in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah the force is for gaming so I\'ve painted the the troops to a clean tabletop standard or *edited: or slightly above (i think anyway) The dreadnoughts and characters have more work done to them.
