The minis are painted nicely I like the choice of colours

BUT these minis weren\'t painted by Robacek indeed...

Is it ok to post not your minis in your gallery without agreement nor knowledge of the painter himself? The pictures are signed by (someone\'s name)

They were painted by a guy named Zieul.

Robacek has a funky policy - he pays unknown painters in Poland ridiculous money for comissions.
Painting in Poland is not as expensive as it is overseas.

For those Dragon Prices he paid 6$ per mini - they are set on ebay I think on 200$ Reserve , with Reserve not met now ;(

You can be curious why I\'m writing this post.

The answer is very short and simple - I was painting for a guy who concealed from us how much he got for comissions...

He paid us 3$ for a mini and sold it for about 30$.

You can say - right but you agreed and this was your choice.
Yes I and my friends were so stupid as to agree , but after 2 years of hard work , my friend found a website of this \'painter slaver\' guy...

It came out that he was ripping off 80% of the money we should get, and we never got to knowing how much he was charging his customers for painitng minis.

Yeah these Dragon Princes may not be my concern and my matter but personally I think it\'s something very wrong, to post in somebody\'s gallery photos of minis that weren\'t painted by the gallery\'s owner (especially without the painter\'s knowledge and agreement)

I know that I will come out as a rather not nice person , but the guy who has painted this minis is my good friend and I\'m very sorry for him.

I hope you guys here will understand me.

some people just don\'t understand the free enterpise system. You worked, he paid you what you agreed to be paid? What he did with them after was his business.

I work for $10 an hour, my boss bills me out at $40 and complains that he is losing money. (numbers have been changed to protect the innocent or guilty) Doesn\'t mean that I am automatically entitled to a profit sharing plan....

I think the guy you were painting for is very smart. You want to paint for me at $6 per mini? You\'ll be doing the same work at double the rate.

I find your subject misleading, if you are only concerned that someone posted someone elses work. Most of your post is about painter\'s not getting more for their comission work. The way I see it if they and you chose to paint for those prices (as did you) and were paid then the contract was a fair and legitimate one.

As for posting someone elses work on CMON, I cannot see why the original painter is not stepping up to the plate on this one. If that painter chose not to post it and sold it to the poster, then why should he/she not post it?

To me this reads that whoever owns the right to the image has the right to post it. So did the painter take this picture or did the owner? The poster did not make claim that he painted these minis either.

Besides it appears the painter isn\'t worth his salt, look at the scores those minis are getting......

Let me give an example

How would it look like if I took someone like Victoroa Haley\'s minis picture or (wonderfull ) Alexi_Z mini\'s pictures and post it in my gallery not writing that it\'s somebody else\'s work?

I gave the minis 1 myself because it\'s NOT ROBACEK\'S WORK!

God people if you really don\'t mind doing this im stunned and my jaw lies on the floor...

quit being so melodramatic. Robacek posts the minis sold by the perfectus art studio, which appears to have many members and also auctions works but different artists (from their website). Since the studio subcontracted the figures it own the rights to them, although maybe not the photo. But honestly, that is nit picking anyways since the studio own the figures and can take new photos if someone complained.

About the ripping off comment you make - evidently that is the real point you have, and not something silly like a studio (running a smart business) posting photos of figures they own and are selling.

btw, a commission \"cheater\" is someone who doesn\'t pay. Once they pay and have the figures they can smash them with a hammer or sell them or eat them for all you care.

I have nothing against the studio that is selling the minis - in fact I think that they are very good I have something against posting other person\'s work as my own , but I\'m sorry that you haven\'t got any moral doubts against this whole matter.

Robacek is not a studio and neither is he mentioned on the studios website.

I cut the post here because I think you can\'t see my point here

well, I am currently commisioning an artist to sculpt my Assault Marines and paint the, but I am going to credit both of the artists when I post them.

If the painters have a problem that he is posting their miniatures in his gallery then they can take it up with him...

As for the smart business thing goes.... That is all part of valuing what your own time is worth. Live and learn.. Don\'t paint miniatures for $6 each.

I admit that when I see a mini on this site, I assume that the lister is the painter, unless otherwise stated. At the same time, he doesn\'t claim to be the painter. The only thing linking him to the paint job is that assumption.

Regarding \"Lost case on cmon\", I\'m not really sure what case you are trying to accomplish with this post. I\'m fairly certain that anybody who frequents this forum understands that minis of that quality are worth more than $6 each. I strongly recommend that you try and spread this information in the low-pay painting community so they don\'t fall prey to such a large markup. If they read this forum, they would already know.
