hey CMON...

somehow, i\'ve recently wrangled my way into doin\' some paintin\' for Eric Louchard over at Dragonblood Miniatures...

the first two minis are a pair of scantily clad ladies sculpted by Sandra Garrity...
those of you that collect Reaper will know her work...

first up is the Outlaw Queen...
her concept art is here in the coolmini shop...
i was asked to copy the concept colours for the mini...
not much else to say about that, really...

thanks to Eric for the photos...

next up is a very cool chick...
Xitlllali, the Priestess of Aztatlan...
she was a team effort between Eric and i...

i worked out the colour scheme, and painted her up, then Eric put some glazes on her to tie her in with the style of his other works...

this was my first attempt at both realistic flames, and OSL...
not fun!!!
tryin\' to meet the standard of such a good painter, which Eric is, gave me a bit of stress...
i learned a lot on this girl that will have to be put into practice on the next few he sends me...

some nice painting Jah :)

i\'m liking the osl, too many people go overbeard with it imo and have it controlling the piece whilst this just enhances it. :)

Jah! I love the flames and the lighting effects.

The first lady looks fantastic except (sorry) for the sword. The contrast you give to the pink part really works, almost has a graphic novel look to it. But that Gold sword looks grainy and is a real let down.

You seem to have the grasp of contrast and shading, so why not go with NMM? I think you have the skills to pull it off well.

Anyhow, I\'m very impressed with both of these. Well done!

@ the generul: thanks, i try not go over my beard, as i would get stuck in my noselol...

@supervike: the sword was a primer issue...
the grey armory primer went all fuzzy on me...
this is why i refuse to use armory anymore...

i had to strip the girl:D, but i thought that the sword would be o.k., which it is in real life, but the pics brought out all the underlyin\' texture...
what a bummer...

the graphic novel look is my trademark, and hopefully will be perfected soon...

funny you should mention nmm, as i\'m starting to use it for decoration on cloth...
i have a l.e. rackham piece that i\'m doin\' to a display quality, and he will be my first nmm mini...
i\'ve painted the basecoats, and will be doin\' a WIP thread on him so i can get suggestions on how to paint nmm...

cheers
