Hi folks...

I\'ve finally now got time to put up a couple of the minis I entered in GD Spain at the weekend... as always would love some feedback and tips on these... they are:

My 40K single mini entry, a FW Krieg Quartermaster (which made top ten):

Lovely job. Especially the Quartermaster. Love the simplicity yet evocative nature of it. Voted.

cool. how did you do the bricks on the quartermaster\'s base?

like the ork too

The bricks are actually real scale red bricks from an architectural modelling supply shop. The arch was created by actually sanding down each individual brick to make it slightly wedge shaped. They are tacked together with superglue, then washed over with various gentle washes and dry brushed with a slightly lighter pinkish grey colour to finish them off. They were WAY too bright to start off with, looked like a freshly finished Barratt home :)

I saw the hypothetical miniature, i liked it as i did with both these posted models, and i am in awe as you are a lot better painter than myself. But me and my friend felt it wasn\'t the nicest tank you could have chose and the painting was quite bland. The technique is amazing an work is also i just felt the overrall mini lacked the \'win\' factor. I apologise if this sounds harsh but it is just my personal opinion, great technique though, love the quarter master

Not at all, I seriously appreciate feedback from anyone and everyone...

in hindsight, the cammo on the tank could have been significantly more contrasting, it almost dissapeared after the weathering was done...

Future entries will be more punchy and exciting :)

Thanks for the feedback.

Glad to hear your a good comment taker i have had a few harsh words thrown back at me when evaluating a model.

I liked the tank and the tallarn idea was unusual but as you said the effect seemed to die away with the weathering.

The standard must have been really high for you not to come away with a demon as both are exceptional
