I\'ve not posted much for a while so here\'s a couple of new minis that were painted for the Iron Painter competition at the Wyrd site.

The second for the \'freehand\' theme.

HERE

I\'m quite pleased with both to be honest. If you want to vote or comment just click the links :)

Eeks...that is underrated....

But they are both fantastic. Great entries on both.

I voted 8 and 9 respectively.

It\'s alot easier said than done, but don\'t let the score get you down...

Voted as well.. Yeah the weathered one is surely underrated. But I\'m pretty syre it will rise in time. The pictures on the wyrd site are a tad better though IMO.

The freehand one is great... Love that.

Well I suppose the second one is ok, but not as good as the one its up against lol

No seriously, I like them both 8 for the first 9 for the second without doubt. The freehand is superb and really fits in well with the charactor of the model. There is only on area that looks not as good as the rest and thats the back of the right forearm.
Excellent work, and it will be a pleasure to loose to such a great painter:D

What they said :D Also 8 and 9 respectively from me. While the first guy has some nice weathering, he just isn\'t so tight, and a little lacking in definition. The second guy is just plain cool :D Great freehand, especially liking the eyes on the front skull

Nice work!

Did th evote thingy, both look kinda cool. Got a bit confused about the base on the first one. I trust that he is part of the (toxic?) slime and has mutated out of it. But if that is the case where has his armour come from.
Anyho, nice looking mini\'s.

Voted on both! I\'m happy to see that the weathered one has rised to 7.6. Good stuff! I\'m partial to your new one, though, I must say. Marvellous mini!

They both look cool..The way the weathering is done on the first one is good but the areas it is applied lacks just a tad of realism..
The second one really is nice. the freehand is great particularly the front skull and crossbones.

There\'s some great stuff coming from this comp..
was wondering when are they and how do you enter????

8 and 9 from me.

The competition is held on the Wyrd Miniatures\' site (http://www.wyrd-games.net) and as this second competition is a bit on it\'s way you can\'t enter it at this point. But go over there and sign up and you\'ll be ready for next edition of the competition. It\'ll probably be announced here as well. Besides, there\'s also the Rotten Harvest competition (deadline Oct 31) that you can enter if you\'re signed up there. Plenty of time to get an entry in, just look up the competition rules there in the forums.

Not that familiar with the steampunk genre, but these look great. They remind me of the critters from the Quake games. The freehand is very nice. Voted (8 and 9).

Lucky you came across me in the first round. You would\'ve really minced me in the second.

That figure is on its way. I keep forgetting to put it in the post. Sorry.

Heheh! cheers PP! :D

I dumped the first mini from my gallery after it went into freefall. It was definitely better than the high 6 early 7.

I used to paint middish 8 minis but getting beyond an 8 to 8.1 or 2 is getting to be very difficult at the moment. I reckon I\'ve hit a plateau tbh. I actually thought that the Grindak mini would do better but didn\'t.
