A drunk jester

Hello everybody!

Here is my latest painted mini.

This mini reminds me the game World of Warcraft, even if I have never played this game :)

So I`ve chosen some bright colors and painted it like a wow character, and I have to admit that I really enjoyed it!

When she will be totally finished, I will sell her.

Here are the pictures. The ones with the base will come soon.

Having played too much WoW and feeling it\'s pull again with Blizzcon coming up...

This piece really looks like it has come straight out of the game with the colors you\'ve chosen.

Thanks guys :)

I`m glad you liked this mini.

@Trevor: Yep, I agree with you, I have added more shades, and accentuated highlights and shadows.

I am painting this one for a french contest, the \"MixOpen\".
I have sculpted this one 1 1/2 year ago (65mm), so I have added a few details more and resculpted some parts, and here it is, the drunk jester!

This! :wow::wow::wow:

Please could you tell me what you used for the ribbons, and how you got them to be ribbon shaped? Thanks in advance! :)

I`m so glad that you love it, really! :)

Thanks guys!

@AmazonWarrior: Actually, the ribbons are really easy to make, I will try to explain how to sculpt them with my approximative english skills :)

for the putty, you can use whatever you want, the method remains the same.

-make a long (it`s your base) and regular stripe
-in this stripe, cut 2 ribbons, long enough to make the bows. Attach one extremity of them where you want your node, and with a soft brush attach the other extremity ON the first one.
-then in your initial stripe, cut 2 parts to make he ribbons, the ones \"flying\", and attach them on the attach point of the bows.
-and finally, cut a little part in the initial stripe to simulate the node. put it on the attach point fo the bows an the ribbons.
-finally, on the node, use a hard tool to simulate the tension and torsion of the fabric.

Here it is! The method is the same for every scale (I use this technic to make the laces of the 30mm minis).

Hope it was understandable...

Thank you ammon, that\'s great! :) One more thing, if I may? How do you get the \"flying\" bits to stay in the right place while the putty is hardening? Thanks again!

:D

For the flying parts, it depends on the length of them. For example, for looong flying ribbons like the ones attached to the sceptre, I make them apart, I make a clay surface, with all the \"waves\" I want, like that, yhe putty gets hard, keeping the flying movement.

For smaller parts like the major part of the ribbons put on the character, I simply use a putty a little bit hard (for example, with the milliput, I usually wait 45mn).
Or with a soft clay, like Sculpey, you only have to predict the natural weight of the clay. So you will sculpt them in an extravagant way, and with their weight they will fall a lil bit, keeping the same movement...

Really hope to be understandable, that`s not easy to talk technically with a foreign language :D

I have continued to paint this (totally) drunk jester.

So, the right hand, the wine running out the bottle , the ribbons, etc are not painted.
