A few questions.

Hi, I was wanting to know if the GW paints in the new pots, is still the same paint as the previous paints that were made in France. Also ~ I see they've changed the names of some of the colours. Is it still the same color with a new name? Thanks!

Final question. This one is about Milliput. I bought some Milliput, silver grey cold setting epoxy putty to use as thin washes for prepping some of my old pewter minis. Anyway, it's the first time I've ever had any of this stuff and the stuff I bought is very firm and starting to yellow. Not rock hard, but still suspiciously hard. No where near as soft as green stuff. I just wanted to know if this is normal? I'm afraid to open as I won't be able to refund it if it turns out to be bad.

Thanks heaps for any help answering my questions. Appreciated!

Don't know about the paint, but the miliput sounds like it's been sat on their shelf too long, I'd get it swapped personally mate.

Haven't looked at all of the paint in the new containers, but I haven't noticed any differences. Want me to run a couple of test strips on the ones I have to be sure?

Ok thanks Shellshock! I'll return the milliput and get the guy at the store to order me some fresh stuff. Hi Roger, yeah ~ I think the guy at this store (in Taiwan) opened a Lord Of The Rings paint-set, and is selling the paints individually. I'm not too sure, but will check next time I'm there. Also, I may have got the GW colour range confused with the GW foundation range names. I'm not too familiar with the foundation stuff.

Thanks IdofEntity, it's cool mate. I'll take your word that there's no noticeable differences. I was just worried that GW was making their colour range of paints in China!

Thanks all for your help:)

Yeah, definitely try to get a replacement for the Milliput as this is a sure sign it has started to go off (Milliput leprosy it's sometimes called).

Just to mention MagicSculp and Apoxie Sculpt can be used in a similar way.

Not sure when the name changed( other than in the last year ) but what was Terracotta has been renamed Dark Flesh. The colour looks to be very similar if not the same. There may have been others but that is the only one that I have noticed.

I believe the same thing happened with Crimson Gore, and Red Gore. I compared them last night and I think the Red Gore has a touch more blue to it. Or I've tainted my paints again.

Hi Laurence
The others are right about the milliput. Packs often lie for ages on the shelf and they can get a bit crusty. However, if you are not able to change it you can still use it albeit with some wastage. Just cut off the crusty bits and use the softer bit in the middle. I've had milliput lying around for years and still managed to get some use out of it. Even with newer packs it can be an idea to trim off any hard bits otherwise they just crop up as soft voids in the most inconvenient places!
Cheers

Oh thanks Blackheart! I returned the milliput today at my local store and they were more than happy to refund my money, even after 2 weeks! I just told 'em to order in some new stuff and call me when it arrives.
Also, I didn't look carefully enough at the GW paints last time I was at my store. I was looking at the new GW washes. All those new names! Devlin Mud etc... I also spotted small "Made in France" print on the GW color paints! So I'm guessing it must be the same stuff, only packed in a different bottle. Thanks for all your help!
