Disney's costuming is much more conservative than any of the old novel covers or comic books.

Probably something we all could have predicted given that it's Disney and being released under the Disney brand and not one of their other production brands like Mirimax.

In reality, the covers and comic books were considerably more conservative than descriptions in the books, which pretty much had the Martians (red and green) running around completely starkers. I doubt any movie production company is ready for thousands of Thark weiners flapping about.

Still, Andrew Stanton's a good director, so I'm going to put aside my expectations from the book and hope it's a great movie in its own right.

Well, I'll put that on the Yep I'd watch it list.

I remember a good few years ago SF Modelling magazine had a picture of a Stop motion Thark, which built my hopes up. But hey CGI's making things easier.
Anyhooo this has to be better than the "Warlord of Mars" that's been shown on Movies 24 over here. I managed to suffer 25 minutes before deciding Oprah was more interesting.
