A little unsettled

I never really get upset about ratings issues, as I figure they will work themselves out over time. That being said I was strolling though the highest rated minis on the site and came to this, which has 270 votes and is rated a 9.7, and is currently the 34th highest rated mini on the site out of almost 60,000! His other mini is here , has 235 votes and a 9.4 score.

I would guess that this is a joke, but I just find it a little unsettling that minis like this can get scores that high after so many votes, and rating wise be some of the top minis here. As I said most scores work themselves out over time, but these obviously have not, and with so many votes they will probably be two of the highest rated minis here for a long time to come. ???

It\'s obviously someone taking the rip out of himself and all mini painters.
Don\'t take it too seriously as the no-one else on here has.
It\'s mostly been voted on for the sheer Chutzpah for posting the pictures.:D

I found the commentary on the first one quite funny (especially when he starts talking about how blue stuff is easier to work than yellow).

I agree it is pretty funny. Gets a bit stale after a while, but, what are you going to do?

The poster obviously did it as a joke (at least I seriously HOPE so) but the USERS are the ones voting it so high. No harm, no foul. If there was a money or award prize for being the 34th top mini on the site, maybe I\'d have a bit of a different attitude....

Well, I can\'t complain really. It was fun as long as it lasted, but given the fact that there is a lot of competetion on this site I can see why it has troubled some people. I have sometimes thought about removing them because of the complete unfair scores, but I would rather had seen a moderator do something about it at that time.

I would like to point out that I have not voted myself up. Purely what has happened is that the sniper system has kicked in a removed all the deserved 1\'s and remained all the undeserved 2 - 3 - 4 -5 -6 - 7 -8 -9 - and most importantly - the 10\'s.
The mini most also have been somewhat famous hence the many votes.

Trust me, the so called \"anti-snipping\" script is not as simple as you mentioned, or else there is no point having 1 as a choice for score. But you do have an \"abnormal\" amount of 10s... which of course as everyone can see is undeserving.

The fact is, this is a typical case of what would get away with on CMON. Everyone likes to look at T10L7, and what top artists have put out, and often ignore pieces like God_Himself has put up. A few people find it funny to vote high and I am sure God_Himself has a few friends, and over time you get what we just witnessed.

beets many of mine too lol out of my newest ones the highest is 6.3... ive yet to understand why? ???

LOL - yes we sometimes laugh. Show me some Monty Python or The Venture Brothers or MST3K and you can get me laughing. But, I\'m sorry, these \"joke\" miniatures are just stupid IMHO. Then again, maybe a joke miniature involving a severed head might be funny... lol

I actually believe that he hasn\'t voted on the mini himself nor made any of his friends vote on the mini.

I will admit that I have voted quite a few 10s on the mini because I find it to be hilarious. I don\'t know God_Himself at all what so ever, but because I think the mini is so hilarious I also think he deserves a 10.

I\'ve seen a lot of this one....

Can\'t say it\'s ever bothered me. In fact, after of hours of looking at minis where the artists have taken themselves far too seriously, this one often bought a smile to my face. Especially the stuff about GS and the carrot...

I have to say I thought the green stuff and the carrot were both pretty inspired. I had no problem with this one, and like Finn mentions, it\'s good to have a reminder not to take ourselves so seriously!

Besides, it\'s not like you looked at the 9.6 it had and thought that was a realistic score. Voting based on humor, which people found \"cool\" rather than painting

Good on that man!

I thought the chaos warrior was fucking brilliant! Kinda went some way to pricking that pompous bubble of elitism that has erroded this site over the past six months or more.

Once again, good on ya God_Himself.

While this mini was/is good for a laugh, it clearly did not deserve 10\'s. I could not fault someone for giving it a 5, it is after all amusing. He obviously put some thought into creating it.
