Another of Edgar Ramos\' lovely sculpted Enigma line! Full of character. Wanted him to look really worn so i painted the clothes to look like they were on bright colours that had faded in the sun. Also tried using some ground pastels for the dust, which was fun. Painted the sand on the base in a white and then applied light creamy-brown pastel dust with a big makeup brush. That wasn\'t good enough so thanks to Genrulepoleaxe, i tried turps, which fixed it nicely. I used some reddy-brown pastel for some rust too but it isn\'t that strong and doesn\'t show up on the photos.

Entered it into salute \'08 but he didn\'t pace due to the quality of the other entries. Thanks to War Griffon for the photos!

The dusty look is very convincing. Overall a unique and appealing paint job! Sadly... \"subtle\" doesn\'t play well in competitions. Maybe put a couple of dozen servo skulls and some flames around the next one :drunk:

very nice. Love the dusty boots. But as NSA said.....

One thing, if your going to give us a pic looking down the barrels, drill out the barrels. Won\'t take much, just a bit and paint black.

@airhead - there are no barrels?!! i assume you are talking about the things in his hands, which are 3 knife-type things. hence no drilling (one of my pet peeves too, so i understand you annoyance)

Nice to see one of yours painted up. I;ve tried pastels for rust but as you say the effect is too subtle, especiallly on photos. Beastial brown and blazing orange with VMC matt is what I use now. RUSTO is the guy who loves rust.

Doh, after looking at it again. I see that those are pommels of knives pointed toward him. (looking for smacking forhead icon).

Upped my vote a point. ;)

Very nicely done, bud. I\'d be nervous as hell to try that pastel dusting. It\'s a really sweet effect, though. Kudos!
