Yeah that all makes sense, doesn't mean they didn't go "What they hey, let's do it!" And it's not like one X-ray is any risk, right? They've done fluoroscopy of people eating Mars bars, and CAT scans of a couple having intercourse after all.

Cassar's BJX-ray reminds me of a similarly themed painting by Phoebe Gloeckner that was hung as part of J.G. Ballard's Atrocity Exhibition (I think). Her bread & butter work is as an illustrator for anatomy textbooks but she's also a cartoonist/painter/author.

Ah, nice! I'll have to ask for copies of my x-rays then. Always wondered just how much metal was in my face since a routine hospital x-ray for something else made the radiographers wince and ask what the hell happened...

That, and the bolt I have through the back of my mouth up top...It actually comes through the skin. Shit the dentist up that one did lol
