A Quest

They look nice.

Now for the (hopefully) constructive criticism.

1) Looks a bit glossy in places, especially the bottom of the robes, go over again with a matt varnish.

2) The red on the armour could do with a small amount of edgelining to bring it out. The armour as well could benefit from this, just enough to make it stand out, but not so much that it losses its grungy feel.

3) They look a bit drab, whilst on one hand this is good for this type of mini, I think thye would benefit from a bit more definition and contrast. This is especially true of the skulls which look \"muddy\" (boy its hard trying to verbally describe what I mean). Maybe if you could take the skulls up to a smoother white highlight?

Don\'t be discouraged by any of that, its just me being really harsh, overall they look great :)

Oh Trevor to me harsh is \" You should take that paint brush cut off the hair and make a wig to hide from the fact you painted that mini\"

I must be stupid though cause I have no idea what edge-lining means????
Is it kinda like black-lining but with highlights?
I found them drab as well I am spoiled by color, but I don\'t play war machine and do not want to make them off kilt. So I could use some help here as well. Ideas anyone?
I \"see\" the skull work an can correct that.

All in all they look pretty flat as if you haven\'t painted more than two layers at places. Could be the photos tho.
I\'m also for more contrast. The spikes on the shoulderpads and the pins on the armour really should stand out more.

Edgelining is when you take the edge of the brush and run it along the edge of a raised area, it works very well on the edges of armour plates, but you can use it on any area. The paint need to be thin enough to flow, but not so thin that it runs.

With practice and on nice sculpts you can get very fine neat lines, used sparingly it can provide a great looking highlight without changing the colour you are working on.

Hope this helps.
