A question about a vampire that doesn't sparkle

I know it was released a while back, but I just got around to looking at the recent model for Mannfred Von Carstein. The way I remember it the Von Carsteins were sort of modeled off of the classic Dracula image, non? This new model looks much better IMHO, but does anyone know what served as the inspirational source?

Thanks to anyone that can point me in the right direction.

I can't really put my finger on any specific influences for the current Von Carstein designs. They are completely different from their predecessors.

The book seems filled with way more (terrible) John Blanche concept art than usual, and sadly the named character models reflect John's tendency to put every single army archetype/cliche into every possible square mm of surface area. At least they don't all have peg-legs and checkers. I like to think the discussion of the new direction for the army book went a little something like this:

"I LIKE BATS. EVERYTHING SHOULD BE MADE OUT OF BATS. ESPECIALLY THE SPECIAL CHARACTERS' CROTCHES FOR NO APPARENT REASON."

"Okay John, maybe you should lie down or something. You aren't making much sense anymore."

"I SLEEP UPSIDE DOWN... BET YOU CAN'T GUESS WHERE I GOT THAT IDEA..."
