Hi guys!
In my attempt to speed up my ork painting, whilst retaining the "quality", I've tried to limit my pallette down to the bare essentials.
This is how I do it ATM: (in GW colours)
--Ork Skin--
Iyanden darksun basecoat
highlight sunburst yellow
Tentacle pink around the "lips"
Mechrite red eyes
2 coats of thraka green
--Leather--
Bestial brown basecoat
Devlan mud wash but leaving the extreme edges of the belts in plain bestial brown as a highlight
--Uniform--
Knarlock green basecoat
Thraka green wash
Astronomicon grey and Chaos black for my camoflage
Devlan Mud wash on it all.
The results can be seen here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/JagCalle/Bloodaxe2.jpg
Lately, I've just undercoated it black. Sprayed on a basecoat of Knarloc green on the entire model before moving on with the rest.
I mainly do the knarloc green and thrakka wash on the uniform to get the green shade I want..
So, what I need help with:
1. is there a Vallejo air colour, that's similar to what I get when spraying knarloc green and washing it with thrakka green? (knarloc green + thrakka green gives me the shade seen on the dread here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/JagCalle/Deff dread/Dreadpainttop1.jpg ), It's ALMOST dark angel green I think, without owning a dark angel green...
2. if such a colour exists, would I loose much of the shading even though I give the entire model a wash of devlan mud later anyways?
