A Question on Carry Cases

I\'m trying to make my own carry case for some GW minis (some proud WHF Empire) so i bought a large 22\" tool box, but i wanted to know what kind of polisterine foam to use and the size to cut the cells.

Thanks for the Help.

Any Advise is always welcome, is anything like this on de tutorials page? if not it might be a good contribution if I do one while I make it, what do you think?

Regards from Venezuela
(and before i get asked again, yes petrol/gas over here it\'s $0.04  the litre as shocking as that might sound jeje, sorry for the spelling any corrrections welcome)

Is the toolbox metal? I\'ve seen a lot of people just put magnets in the bases for metal cases.

You can buy foam fillers for army transport cases for a few bucks each, and cut them down as necessary, if that isn\'t feasible for you.

GIT!

Any soft closed cel foam should do, but as has been mentioned before magnetic tape in the bases can be a serious boon.

Army Transport sells foam that could be used for your purposes. It\'s expensive, though, and even the best foam will put enough stress on plastic minis to break fine details like pikes and such.

Personally, I use rare earth magnets from Amazingmagnets.com, glued to the bottom of the fig. One us usually good - I put two on the metal GW cave troll and it didn\'t budge an *inch* in my toolbox.

Since importing one its so bloody dificult I was thinking of doing a carry case with foam like the GW, I found some medium density stuff I think could work well, but I still have no idea of the size of the cells, are figures stored standing or horizontal, I was thinking of a 30x60mm rectangle(the only logic behind this is so it can fit a cavalrery base) the depth looks like 25mm but i\'m not sure

You can make your own if you have a funny shape.

Start with some high density soft foam sheets at a craft store, like the stuff in this project.

Then, take some open cell foam of the desired depth, cut it to fit in the box, then cut out holes that will accommodate your figures. Glue the foam sheets to the bottom with hot glue or strong white glue, and you\'re in business.
